Candela Novembre at Blugirl FW2016
It’s good to see some familiar faces back at Milan Fashion Week, including Candela Novembre, who wore a luxe pajama look by Laura Urbinati in marigold yellow to the Blugirl show.
Patricia Manfield at Fendi SS2016
Winter denial: going to Miami for Art Basel Miami and dreaming of spring already. Just looking at this colorful outfit on Patricia Manfield at the Fendi show makes me hope winter will be over in the blink of an eye. In the meantime, it would be an excellent option for resort wear.
Jada Pinkett Smith at Chloe SS2016
Jada Pinkett Smith wore a colorful yellow trench to the Chloe show, draping it over a white blouse with a long silk tie and slouchy black trousers that are all the rage now in Paris. My one critique of this outfit: too many accessories – the multiple bodyguards! Even Karlie Kloss evades her stalkers with just one, and there is a particular Chinese billionaire who often attends the shows with no security in sight. They are surely there somewhere, but much more subtle.
Tavi Gevinson at Stella McCartney Resort 2016
Stella McCartney has so many fabulous designs, it’s no wonder she has so many famous friends. Actress and Style Rookie founder Tavi Gevinson wore a cool pair of wide-legged pants with cut outs from the spring 2015 Stella McCartney collection to the resort show in NYC on Monday.
Patricia Manfield at Kenzo SS2015
Loved this burst of yellow and white at the Kenzo show in Paris, plus the amazing architectural details on her sweater.
Sylvia Haghjoo at Issey Miyake FW2015
Getting ready for the glamour tonight at the Met Ball. At the Issey Miyake show in Paris, Sylvia Haghjoo of the fashion blog Hug You injected a bit of glamour into a daytime look with a dress adorned with feathers under a mustard-colored suede coat. Louis Vuitton bag.
Annie Georgia Greenberg at the Refinery 29 A-OK Coachella 2015 Party
Loved this sophisticated pool party look on Annie Georgia Greenberg at the Refinery 29 party – proof that you can stay cool even in 90-degree weather.
Easter Inspiration: Angelica Ardasheva at Chloe FW2015
Believe it or not, Easter is around the corner. Angelica Ardasheva of Angy’s Tea Room wore a cute combination of a yellow coat and green and yellow floral dress, both by Zara, that would be perfect for Easter. Worst case scenario: you can even wear an outfit like this with pale tights. And an umbrella!
Elisa Nalin at Vivette FW2015
A great yellow brocade look in Vivetta outside the show in Milan on Elisa Nalin. And the Stan Smith Adidas: this is the favorite shoe of the fashion crowd now.
Yellow and Blue Colorblock Coat, Outside Marni FW2015
Martha Graeff at Roberto Cavalli FW2015
High Style and Street: Veronika Heilbrunner at Stephane Rolland SS2015
Harper’s Bazaar Germany editor Veronika Heilbrunner always looks great throughout fashion week, but this was my favorite outfit of hers during couture. She took a diaphanous floral Erdem dress and layered it over a white turtleneck, black leggings and sneakers. What a cool mix of high style and street.
Hanneli Mustaparta in Valentino, Outside the Show SS2015
Hanneli Mustaparta looked gorgeous in a yellow bird print Valentino dress from the resort 2015 collection that was just perfect on her.
Anya Ziourova at Gucci SS2015
A gorgeous lemon yellow coat from the Gucci resort collection at Anya Ziourova at the Gucci show yesterday.
Eleonora Carisi at Diesel Black Gold SS2015
Designer Jeremy Scott has really made a splash at Moschino, starting with his McDonald’s-themed collection of last season and now with a Sponge Bob Squarepants-themed one for fall. The mass market images are so jarring to see on high fashion – including evening gowns – that it makes you rethink this dichotomy altogether, rather like Karl Lagerfeld’s supermarket-themed show for Chanel. Are mass and class really total opposites, or have they merged? Italian blogger Eleonora Carisi of Jou Jou Villeroy wore a Moschino yellow Sponge Bob sweater under white overalls with a clutch appliquéd with images of pizza, cigarettes and an eye. We are watching, indeed.
