TBT: Anna Wintour at Chloe, 2010
It’s hard to know if the rumors that Anna Wintour may be leaving Condé Nast are true, but the NY Post certainly seems to have doubled down on the story. (Another rumor is that the New York Times will publish her “exit interview” à la Cindi Lieve’s “How to Quit a Magazine.”) It seems a bit cherchez la femme to blame Wintour for massive shifts in the print industry, which are not limited to Condé Nast.
This is the only photo of her I have where she is truly unguarded, because she didn’t know she was being photographed. A beauty and a legendary force in the industry.
Ece Sukan at Emanuel Ungaro SS2016
Thinking of our beautiful friend Ece Sukan of Turkish Vogue today, pictured here in a vintage jacket at the Emanuel Ungaro show a week ago in Paris, and wishing for peace for Turkey.
Konca Aykan at Atelier Versace FW2015
A beautiful look in vivid blues and greens on Turkish Vogue’s Konca Aykan at the Atelier Versace show.
Amy Astley at Stella McCartney
Teen Vogue‘s Amy Astley wore Celine to the Stella McCartney show in New York recently. The zig zag knit pieces from this collection have been super popular with the fashion set – warm enough for freezing office A/C, breathable enough for summer parties after work, and stylish all the time.
Emmanuelle Alt at Schiaparelli FW2014
This was our first sign that something had happened to the mighty stiletto: when French Vogue editor Emmanuelle Alt arrived at the first show of Paris Couture last summer in low, red cap-toe heels. A statement shoe indeed!
Crisp Whites: Christine Centenera at Dries Van Noten FW2015
Nothing says “summertime” like a crisp all white outfit. Christine Centenera was elegantly turned out in an optic white tunic layered over a white shirt and white slit maxi skirt at the Dries Van Noten show.
Mother Daughter Duo: Emmanuelle Alt and Francoise at Rodarte FW2015
Happy almost Mother’s Day! Vogue Paris editor Emmanuelle Alt took her equally stylish daughter to the Rodarte show in New York. Quelle mignonne!
Virginia Smith at Haider Ackermann FW2015
Jeans are undergoing some major changes for 2015. Continuing from the boyfriend jeans trend of the previous year, they’re getting even wider and slouchier, like these sailor-style jeans seen on Vogue’s Virginia Smith at the Haider Ackermann show in Paris. A similar but separate trend: flared jeans like the ones Ghesquière put on the runway at Louis Vuitton.
Turn Up the Volume: Christine Centenera at Louis Vuitton FW2015
One of the biggest changes in fashion in recent years is increased volume. It’s everywhere: in tops, trousers and skirts. Outside the Louis Vuitton show, Vogue Australia editor Christine Centenera balanced an oversized blue top with a black pencil skirt and powder blue suede boots.
Black and Blue: Ece Sukan at Carven FW2015
We’ve seen a lot of mixing black and blue outside the shows this season, and Ece Sukan did it particularly well with a black studded leather jacket and navy pencil skirt.
Virginia Smith at Bottega Veneta FW2015
“Il pleut il mouille c’est la fête à la grenouille”: Vogue’s Virginia Smith wore a fantastic trench from the Gap that was part of their collaboration with Parisian store Merci in 2009.
Virginia Smith at Maison Margiela SS2015
Look for more graphic prints like this one seen at the Maison Margiela SS2015 show on Vogue’s Virginia Smith. John Galliano debuted as Maison Margiela’s new head designer with a couture collection today that has received very positive reviews.
Going to New Lengths: Christine Centenera at Bottega Veneta SS2015
Vogue Australia’s Christine Centenera wore a Christopher Kane cut-out top and a slitted skirt that fell to mid-calf level to the Bottega Veneta show in Milan. This was the new hem length on many an editor at the spring/summer shows.
Christine Centenera at Schiaparelli Couture FW2014
Vogue Australia’s Christine Centenera wore a gorgeous red and black corseted outfit to the Schiaparelli show in Paris. See it from the back, after the jump. (more…)
