Barbara Martelo at Viktor & Rolf
Definitely one of the coolest chicks in the fashion world, stylist Barbara Martelo arrived in a faded denim jacket embellished with metal stars for the Viktor & Rolf show. Click through to see the back of the jacket, which I think is Balmain. (more…)
Navy Knit Suit, Outside Sonia Rykiel
This British model/actress who attended the Sonia Rykiel show would look good in nearly anything, but there’s one lesson we could all take away: head-to-toe navy looks much more interesting and fresh for spring than head-to-toe black. A sleek adaptation of the nautical trend.
Kate Lanphear at Lanvin
Yasmin Sewell at Isabel Marant
The devil is in the details, and street style star Yasmin Sewell is the master of the little details that make an ensemble really gorgeous. Love the unfinished hems of the tweed coat, the chunky belt, the giraffe-print bag arranged cross body just so, the pop of a bright yellow beaded necklace and the finishing touch of cool shades (Karen Walker?).
Kanye West and Anna Dello Russo at Sonia Rykiel
This was one of the most dramatic entrances at the Sonia Rykiel show yesterday at Place de la Concorde: Kanye West and Anna Dello Russo, together! We all did a double take. Kanye has been hitting a lot of the Paris fashion week shows and, by the look of his cool red kicks, has a true interest in fashion. Anna Dello Russo wears a beautiful black fur and over-the-knee patent leather boots.
Frida Gustavsson at Zac Posen
Swedish supermodel Frida Gustavsson has just as much style off the runway as on, as evidenced by the great camel cloak she wore exiting the Zac Posen show yesterday. Like nearly all the models, she kept on the exquisite makeup from the show – close up after the jump. (more…)
Girl With a Turban, Rochas
Yesterday outside the Rochas show at the Palais du Tokyo in Paris. Her whole look is great, but I particularly love the chic turban and the makeup, with an emphasis on fuchsia-pink lips and very little eye makeup – a key look for spring.
Just a Regular Day in Paris
D. and I were walking past the Palais Royale before Paris Fashion Week really got started and espied this woman in a fabulous surrealist coat. A debate ensued about whether or not she was affiliated with fashion week. You never know, I said. She could just be French.
Kate Schelter at Yigal Azrouel
Stylist Kate Schelter and a friend outside the Yigal Azrouël show. They’re both so beautifully pulled together – and this was taken early in the morning! Schelter mixes an army green silk jumpsuit with a classic fur and brown suede lace-up boots. On her friend, a wide-brimmed fedora. Both opted for handbags in caramel leather.
Black and White at Ralph Lauren
A great look in black and white outside the Ralph Lauren show – particularly love the black bow and wool felt aviator hat.
70s Jeans and a Plaid Jacket at Preen
Joanna Hillman at Michael Kors
Many women at fashion week are fashionably dressed, but Joanna Hillman of Harper’s Bazaar is a street chic superstar (not just here but in Japan!) because her personal style is totally relatable. This outfit provides an excellent lesson for all women in mixing patterns: leopard and sailor stripes, both great on their own, can look fantastic when mixed together with a keen eye for proportion and balance. Love the side swept braid, too.
Man in a Fur Coat, Rebecca Minkoff
It wasn’t just the women dressed in madly over-the-top clothes at New York Fashion Week. This guy, accompanying Miss Jay, arrived in a cocoon-like fur coat on a cold day at the Rebecca Minkoff show.
Filipa Fino at Michael Kors
Vogue Senior Accessories Editor Filipa Fino, impeccably turned out in a Chanel dress and button-up over-the-knee boots (which Carine also has) at the Michael Kors show.
Sarah Rutson at Michael Kors
Always ahead of the curve, Sarah Rutson was even a step ahead in her choice of occupations as fashion director at Lane Crawford in Hong Kong – long before editors and designers started flocking to China. Here she wears her signature sporty but feminine look with leggings, a fur vest and fringed scarf. Also note the lace-up boots. (more…)
