Blue Sequin Sweater, Outside Marni
Black Lace Dolce & Gabbana Dress, Outside the Show
One of several sheer black lace dresses outside the Dolce & Gabbana show. While the transparency is probably one of the main things that would catch an American’s eye, the whole concept is a subversion of traditional widow’s garb and therefore much more controversial in Italy.
Brocade Coat, Outside Marni
Loved this beautiful purple brocade coat on a guest at the Marni show and how she paired it with lace leggings and a feathered scarf. Exquisite, luxurious detail.
Carlotta Oddi at Cavalli
Another new girl on the scene who’s been attracting a lot of attention because of her good looks and great style is Carlotta Oddi, assistant to Anna Dello Russo. On the last day of Milan Fashion Week, she wore a cool and relaxed jeans outfit to the Cavalli show. The distressed, bleached jeans show how many varieties there are now in denim. Love a hat like this for a rainy day. The studded bag is Valentino.
Zebra Print Shorts and iPad Cover at Marni
This girl in zebra print shorts and a matching iPad case looked so pretty standing outside the Marni show in Milan.
Ada Kokosar at Marni
Stylist Ada Kokosar has a super cool aesthetic: she always looks pulled together yet slightly bohemian. Here she is outside the Marni show in black and white. Note the double breasted coat – a tailoring style that has been showing up on a lot of men at Milan Fashion Week as well.
Ulyana Sergeenko at Dolce & Gabbana
One of my favorite Russians has arrived back on the scene, fashion designer Ulyana Sergeenko. Here she is in a black velvet dress of her own design outside the Dolce & Gabbana show.
Oksana On in Her Own Design, Outside Emporio Armani
Russian ingenue Oksana On has been designing her own line of dresses with very pretty results. Here she is twirling around in a red chiffon strapless dress of her own design outside the Emporio Armani show.
Kate Lanphear in Leopard Print, Outside Alberta Ferretti
We saw a lot of leopard prints this time last year, but like many things fashion, they have not died, they have been transformed into something else, morphing from saturated safari colors to muted shades of gray. Elle’s Kate Lanphear wore leopard print in black, gray and white outside yesterday’s Alberta Ferretti show. Her signature studded bracelets are Eddie Borgo.
Black and White, Outside Gucci
Here’s more of my favorite transitional look of black and white, outside the Gucci show at Milan Fashion Week. Love the leather-paneled skirt.
Mixing Prints, Outside the Victoria Beckham Show
Print mixing is a trend that’s still going strong, though it’s best to do it as adeptly as this girl outside the Victoria Beckham show who mixed printed pants with a print DVF jacket. The shoes are Manolos.
Claire Sulmers in 3.1 Phillip Lim
Blogger Claire Sulmers of the Fashion Bomb was one of the first people I’ve seen wearing this cool 3.1 Phillip Lim cartoon sweater outside the Creatures of the Wind show. Several other trendsetters have been spotted wearing it since.
Shala Monroque in Black Lace, Outside Rodarte
Stylist and muse Shala Monroque wore an exquisite black lace dress to yesterday’s Rodarte show. Love the colorful floral necklace to go with this. The trend of wearing necklaces over collars, dresses and sweaters continues for fall 2012.
Natalie Joos at Derek Lam
Stylist Natalie Joos looked utterly charming at the Derek Lam show dressed in a vintage top, Oscar de la Renta skirt, Prada Bag, Tom Ford sunglasses and Aldo shoes. Love the mix of tropical colors and prints. Tropical prints have been a surprising hit for early fall.
