Leather Skirt and Top, Harlem's Fashion Row
Harlem’s Fashion Row presented the collections of four local designers on Friday, and a very fashionable crowd came to see the show. Above, Tiger Lily, a guest and New York DJ, in a leather top and skirt from H&M. The head scarf is also a good example of how a little bit of leopard can go a long way.
Delfina Blaquier, Outside Ralph Lauren
Handsome polo star Nacho Figueras came to yesterday’s Ralph Lauren show, but the fashion crowd was perhaps even more smitten with his gorgeous wife Delfina Blaquier, photographer, model and star of Ralph Lauren’s Romance campaign. Marina Muñoz, Outside 3.1 Phillip Lim
Stylist and street style darling Marina Muñoz arrived at the 3.1 Phillip Lim show in an adorable Western outfit, complete with kerchief tied at her neck and a wide brimmed outback hat. She has a real talent for picking out hats, which always give her outfits a jolt of individuality in a sea of fashionable people. This hat is a classic and a reference to her native Argentina. The epitome of grace under pressure, Emmanuelle Alt has really aced NY Fashion Week – not just with her composure but with her cool, casual wardrobe. Before she was named Editor in Chief of French Vogue, her look was super sporty. Now it has evolved to something more sophisticated but still entirely her own, like this combination of crisp blue button down, white jeans and Hermes bracelet watch. Simple but perfect.
Susie Lau in Prints and Color, Outside Donna Karan
Influence goes many ways when it comes to fashion. When critics like the NY Times‘ Cathy Horyn point out the profusion of prints and color in Spring 2012 collections, you can’t help but wonder if it started not on the runway, but with trendsetters like Style Bubble‘s Susie Lau, who wore wild print and color combinations long before they appeared in mainstream collections.
Wearable for the average Jane, 24/7? Maybe not. But color and print are a sort of visual daring, and the eye – and the camera – can’t help but be attracted to them.

Kim Kardashian arrived at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center in a form-fitting beige dress and aquamarine statement necklace with her hair piled into a bun. She has said she idolized Elizabeth Taylor, and she really does remind me of La Liz in her twenties and thirties – the same sultry glamour and perfectly symmetrical beauty.
