Leaf Greener in Blue and Red
Love the superhero-bright colors on Leaf Greener of ELLE China. The pom pom hat and kitty cat bag makes the look even more playful.
Magdalena Frackowiak, Exiting the Fendi Show
Shades of Yellow, Outside Max Mara
Shades of yellow make up a feminine, springy look outside the Max Mara show in Milan. The black boots give it a little edge.
Anna Dello Russo in Prada
We’ve all been waiting to see Prada’s spring race car-themed collection in person, and here it is, on Anna Dello Russo in Milan. The race car imagery and flame-licked heels are over-the-top fabulous, just like Anna. Shoe shot after the jump. (more…)
Julia Sarr-Jamois at Alberta Ferretti
Julia Sarr Jamois is an expert rule-breaker. At Alberta Ferretti she wore a baby blue jacket printed with cartoon surfers and palm trees. Mix that with gray trousers, a leopard bag and discreet black and white pumps and you have something completely irreverent – and genius. Detail shot after the jump. (more…)
Anya Ziourova at Alberta Ferretti
Anya Ziourova, always a master of directional fashion, attended yesterday’s Alberta Ferretti show in Milan in a graphic print red, black and white blouse with a necklace worn at the collar.
Elisa Nalin at Gucci
She has such a painterly eye for color and pattern. Gorgeous! And notice she’s wearing the color of the moment: oxblood, seen in a lot of FW2012 collections.
Alek Wek in White Lace
Alek Wek, former model for Gucci, sat front row at the show yesterday in a gorgeous all-white outfit including a white lace dress.
Wide Brim Fedora, Outside Gucci
Gucci’s increasingly pervasive influence in fashion is evident in the shape of this hat, which, though I think it’s Borsalino, not Gucci, echoes the FW2011 collection from the storied Italian house. Though Frida Giannini cited the ’70s as a major influence for that collection, I can’t help but see 1940s menswear in the wide brimmed fedora and the wide lapels on her tweed coat. Yet the whole effect is super feminine.
Ruby Aldridge at Ports 1961
You may have already seen this image in some incarnation or other, since there were a lot of us street style photographers on the scene, but I just love model Ruby Aldridge. The idea to pose on the railing outside the Ports 1961 show, with the monolithic New York Public Library rising behind her, was actually hers. What an eye. The hat is Rag & Bone.
Meredith Melling Burke at Ports 1961
More white pants in February, this time on Vogue‘s Meredith Melling Burke, in a flared style that goes well with a simple camel coat. The look is luxe but classic.
Preppy Fashion, Outside Ralph Lauren
Preppy fashion is always at home at a Ralph Lauren show. It’s risky to belt a navy puffer vest, worn over a black and white print sweater and yet another layer underneath, yet somehow the whole look comes together beautifully.
All Over Florals, Outside Rodarte
Florals from head to toe have never looked as good as they do this season, especially in pants suits. A distressed leather jacket makes the outfit more edgy than garden party.
Susie Lau at Cushnie et Ochs
Style Bubble’s Susie Lau wore a black and white windowpane check skirt and jacket, a Glamour X Opening Ceremony cat sweater and cat sunglasses to the Cushnie et Ochs show. It’s a very modern outfit with a vintage Audrey Hepburn vibe.
Mary Alice Stephenson in All White at Carolina Herrera
Mary Alice Stephenson arrived at Monday’s Carolina Herrera show in glamorous all white – flared pants, fur vest, and an ivory blouse. She’s one of several trendsetters to wear all white for spring this New York Fashion Week.
