Carine Roitfeld at Comme des Garcons SS2015
No matter what age we are, we can all take fashion inspiration from Carine Roitfeld. She manages to stay both on trend yet true to her personal style year after year. Before pencil skirts started popping up on runways everywhere, she was wearing them, bringing a classic trend into the new millenium.
Kind of Blue: Golestaneh at Elie Saab SS2015
A great hi-lo mix on blogger Golestaneh outside the Elie Saab show in Paris: a Stella McCartney colorblock sweatshirt with a blue miniskirt by Zara.
Denim Jumpsuit: Christine Centenera at Chloe SS2015
Always on the forefront of new designers and trends, Vogue Australia editor Christine Centenera wore a pale wash denim jumpsuit printed with the word “white” by Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh to the Chloe show in Paris. We saw a lot of this designer’s sportswear on fashion week attendees – particularly the menswear.
Sweater Dressing: Elena Perminova at Chloe SS2015
As simple as the sweater dress may seem, it’s actually all about taking it up a notch with great accessories. Elena Perminova looked gorgeous as usual in an eggshell white sweater dress, over-the-knee pale suede boots and Chloe bag outside the Chloe show in Paris.
Five Guys, Outside Gucci SS2015
TBT: Meredith Rollins at Rebecca Minkoff SS2015
Throwback Thursday: I am still thinking about this colorful Tracy Reese paisley skirt my friend and Redbook EIC Meredith Rollins wore to the Rebecca Minkoff show in NY. It would be great go-to piece for holiday cocktail parties.
Cocktail Dress Inspiration: Anna Dello Russo in Balmain
The holidays are the time to rock a serious cocktail dress, like this beautifully beaded and fringed Balmain leather dress on Anna Dello Russo, seen here at the Nina Ricci show in Paris. The tribal look gives it an amazing tough-chic vibe.
Fendi Bag: Helena Bordon at Nina Ricci SS2015
Who would have thought that Fendi bags would still be so popular more than a decade after the Fendi baguette craze? And yet that seems to be the case, with many a fashionista toting them around this past fashion week season. They’re also a little more practical than investing in just the “monster” charm. Helena Bordon paired a Fendi bag with blue and white pajama style pants and an orange coral necklace at the Nina Ricci show in Paris. Full length shot, after the jump. (more…)
How to Style It: Olivia Palermo at Nina Ricci SS2015
I love the color burgundy at this time of year. I also love warm turtleneck sweaters, but hate looking schlumpy. Of course, Olivia Palermo managed to style all these things to look quite chic. At the Nina Ricci show in Paris, she ignored the “rule” about not tucking your sweater into your skirt or pants and tucked her burgundy turtleneck sweater partway into a pencil skirt of the same color to emphasize the waistline. Then she topped it with a big statement necklace and added nude heels for a ladylike look. Brava.
Black and Blue: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley at Balmain SS2015
I still love the classic combination of black and blue, especially in winter when all black gets so boring. Top model and actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wore a black and blue tuxedo jacket, black leather mini and black ankle boots and monogrammed navy blue bag to the Balmain show in Paris. It’s also amazing how she color-coordinated with her bodyguard – on purpose? The jet setter recently contributed a travel checklist to Who What Wear Daily that was totally personal and totally fascinating – check it out here.
Snakeskin Print Vest, Outside Balmain SS2015
When the weather gets tough, leather vests and pants are an even tougher shield against the cold. At the Balmain show in Paris, a guest wore an embossed snakeskin-giraffe print leather vest and green leather leggings. Chic armor.
Blue Mood: Irene Kim at Ann Demeulemeester SS2015
The cobalt blue color that Stella McCartney popularized does not seem to be going away anytime soon – in fact it could soon be a welcome pick-me-up during winter. Irene Kim of Irene Is Good wore a cobalt blue fur by Bedni and an Ann Demeulemeester top to the Ann Demeulemeester show in Paris.
Jamie Bochert, Outside Bottega Veneta SS2015
Model and musician Jamie Bochert wore a plaid Prada dress after walking the Bottega Veneta show in Milan. The once-controversial grunge look has now become a timeless classic.
Going to New Lengths: Christine Centenera at Bottega Veneta SS2015
Vogue Australia’s Christine Centenera wore a Christopher Kane cut-out top and a slitted skirt that fell to mid-calf level to the Bottega Veneta show in Milan. This was the new hem length on many an editor at the spring/summer shows.
Lady in Red: Natalie Joos in Valentino
I like how Natalie Joos of Tales of Endearment can take new clothes, like this red mini dress by Valentino, and give them her own vintage-y spin. She brings out the ’50s styling in the dress by pairing it with a red headscarf and shades.
