Joan Smalls at Gucci
One supposed “rule” of the new over-the-ankle boots is that you can’t wear them with miniskirts. Well guess what: If you have legs like Joan Smalls, you can wear them with anything. The top model exited the Gucci show in all black, including a skater skirt and sheer mesh top.
Gray and White, Outside Gucci
Welcome to Milan fashion week! First show: Gucci. We’ve seen a lot of black and white on the streets this season but not a lot of gray, which may be why this elegant and sporty look in gray and white seemed like such a breath of fresh air. Also note the boots – just above the ankle is the way to go for fall.
Chiara Ferragni at Ralph Lauren
Loved this cute strawberries and florals look on The Blonde Salad‘s Chiara Ferragni outside the Ralph Lauren show.
Kate Davidson Hudson at BCBG
Crop tops and full skirts have a sexy 1950s sensibility that really works right now. At the BCBG show, Editorialist‘s Kate Davidson Hudson wore a Marni skirt and BCBG top and carried a Louis Vuitton bag.
Blue Carreon at BCBG
One of my favorite guys to photograph, Blue Carreon, wore his signature blue to the BCBG show in a print blazer with white chinos and loafers.
New York Post: Fashion Week’s Best Dressed
I have a few photos in the New York Post today as part of their feature on Fashion Week’s Best Dressed. Thanks so much to Zanita Morgan, Miroslava Duma, Diana Enciu, Natalie Joos, Hamish Bowles, Erica Pelosini and Anahita Moussavian for posing! You super stylish people make my job easy. More photos after the jump. (more…)
Christina Perez at BCBG
Glamour‘s Christina Perez is one of the newest editors to make a sartorial splash at NY fashion week. At the BCBG show, she wore black and white with red Superga sneakers. Black skater skirts in silk or leather were a popular choice on guests at the shows.
Karlie Kloss, Last Day of NY Fashion Week
Supermodel Karlie Kloss still looked glowing on the last day of a long New York Fashion Week. She may be one of a kind in the modeling world, but she was one of several trendsetters this week to wear black and white: white Rag & Bone top, black BLK DNM pants and a leopard Coach bag. The shoes are Manolos.
Erica Pelosini at DKNY
When in New York? Florentine Erica Pelosini dressed the part for New York fashion week, pairing a “New York” Topshop baseball jersey with a colorful red check Fausto Puglisi skirt and plaid hat at the DKNY show. The shoes are Valentino, the bag Chanel.
Giovanna Battaglia at Thakoon
Giovanna Battaglia has been looking fabulous throughout New York fashion week. This black and white look is crisp, chic and just a little bit playful.
Caroline de Maigret at Theyskens’ Theory
Chanel muse and model Caroline de Maigret exudes this sultry French chic that we American women can’t seem to master. Alas, maybe we could at least dress like her? At the Theyskens’ Theory show yesterday, she paired black waxed jeans with a beautiful silk herringbone blazer and heels. The bag is Chanel, bien sûr.
Another difference between the Americans and the French: they don’t waste time with blowouts, instead letting their hair look always a little bit mussed. Very sexy.
Miroslava Duma at Victoria Beckham
Miroslava Duma arrived at the Victoria Beckham show in a crisp belted yellow leopard tank and blue pants perfect for the variable September weather we’ve been having in NYC.
Sarah Rutson in Givenchy
The always-chic Sarah Rutson wore a colorful short sleeved Givenchy “American Dream” sweatshirt to the DKNY show yesterday. Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci has reinvented the lowly sweatshirt as high fashion, starting with his much-copied Rottweiler designs several years back. Look out for more luxe sweatshirts on the fashion crowd this fall. The boots are Balmain.
OK, Glass: Nina Garcia at Alexander Wang
This is happening: Editors are wearing Google Glass to the shows during New York Fashion Week. The glasses were probably gifted from Google, but any concerns the fashion industry has about their actual style quotient have not kept editors like like Nina Garcia and Eva Chen are taking them to the streets. The glasses come in several different colors including yellow, but early adopters in the fashion world are going for the neutral gray shade. Mais bien sûr: it goes with black.
