Grace Mahary at Dries van Noten
Welcome to Paris fashion week! Today was spring 2014 show of Dries van Noten, a favorite designer of many fashion people. Model Grace Mahary exited the show in a fringe dress and beautiful print scarf by the designer.
Anna Dello Russo at Missoni
I must say I was skeptical of the religious icon-themed Dolce & Gabbana fall/winter 2013 collection when it was on the runways last year. Decking yourself out in an elaborate Byzantine mosaic? Really? But I must say the clothes and bags look beautiful in real life, glittering in the sunshine – and someone like Anna Dello Russo can really pull it off.
Simone Marchetti at Armani
La Repubblica‘s Simone Marchetti is one of the most dapper men on the European fashion scene. Camouflage has been a continuing motif for him, now updated in a pixelated houndtooth print version in this jacket, which I think is Valentino.
P.S. He is really fun to follow on Instagram if you want an inside look at the fashion world and, when he’s off duty, la dolce vita.
Kate Lanphear at Armani
This has got to be one of my favorite outfits Kate Lanphear of T Magazine has ever worn. Just pure inky black from head to toe, with a thin leather top, mid-calf skirt and the new over-the-ankle boots. She is true to her original style while giving a nod to new trends, and she gets more sophisticated every year.
Black and White, Outside Armani
A really cool outfit outside the Armani show this morning in Milan. I like how she has paired the black skater skirt with a sheer black top under a white leather vest to add some feminine floatiness to the look. And here again we see the new over-the-ankle type boots that will be big for fall, here in snappy black and white.
Christine Centenera at Dolce & Gabbana
Vogue Australia‘s Christine Centenera looked amazing in a Peter Pilotto graphic print dress at yesterday’s Dolce & Gabbana show in Milan. The London-based Pilotto has quickly become a favorite of the fashion set.
Miroslava Duma at Marni
Miroslava Duma arrived at the Marni show yesterday in a beautiful belted hunter green jumpsuit by Calvin Klein, styling it with a matching scarf around her neck. Detail shot of her Hermes bag, after the jump.
JJ Martin at Fendi
Fashion journalist JJ Martin has been wearing lots of cool vintage outfits to the shows in Milan, like this floral look outside the Fendi show. One benefit to vintage? No one else will be wearing the same thing.
Zhanna Romashka at Etro
Zhanna Romashka made a splash at Etro with a great mix of a yellow polka dot Miu Miu skirt, vintage jacket and Paula Cademartori bag. Detail shot of the jacket and bag, after the jump. (more…)
Giovanna Battaglia at Bottega Veneta
More Comme des Garçons sartorial sightings at Milan fashion week: Giovanna Battaglia wore a fabulous Junya Watanabe Comme des Garçons dress to the Bottega Veneta show this morning. If the mesh panels look familiar, it’s because as she says, “everybody copied it, but Watanabe was the first.” Cheers to an original like Giovanna.
Michelle Elie at Blugirl
Garage Magazine‘s Michelle Elie is never afraid to mix it up, pairing a black and white polka dot Comme des Garçons top with black and white polka dot Celine pants and some fabulous Viktor & Rolf platforms in black and white stripes. A shot of those shoes, after the jump. (more…)
Bette Franke at Ralph Lauren
How gorgeous is model Bette Franke? And like many New York fashion week attendees, she traveled to the shows by bike, in this case a cool moss-green Biria with panniers. With taxis in short supply and the subway far away from many of the west side shows, bikes – regular or Citibikes – were the way to go this New York fashion week.
Valentina Siragusa at Gucci
Valentina Siragusa of Factory Blog wore an oversize purple silk blazer at the Gucci show yesterday. Look for more silhouettes like this in coats and blazers for fall 2013.
