Linda Wells at Balenciaga
Allure editor in chief Linda Wells brings professional polish to every outfit she wears during fashion week, but I especially loved the mix she wore to the Balenciaga show: Coat with contrasting lapel, mixed prints and a great leather pencil skirt. It looks both pulled-together and très chic.
Yellow Hermes Dress, After the Show
This girl works for Hermès, and she came out after the show in a brilliant yellow dress by the design house. The boots and bag are also Hermès. Love saturated color like this for autumn.
Leigh Lezark in Kenzo
Keep an eye out for the newly-reinvigorated brand Kenzo. Ever since Opening Ceremony’s Humberto Leon and Carol Lim took the helm as creative directors last year, Kenzo has been gaining visibility in editorial and ad pages – and also in real life on fashion industry folk. We saw numerous Kenzo sweatshirts on the editors this past fashion week, and at the Viktor & Rolf show in the Tuileries, Leigh Lezark work an intricately pleated Kenzo dress that looked particularly beautiful in motion.
Black and White Coat, Outside Louis Vuitton
As painful as it may be to wrench yourself away from pretty fall weather, it’s time to start thinking about coats. Though most people seem to go for the most basic, utilitarian coats around, there really *will* be enough cold days in a New York City winter to wear an interesting patterned coat fairly often. This guest at Paris fashion week paired her black and white coat with an aubergine clutch by Louis Vuitton.
Anna Dello Russo in Alexander McQueen
This is a totally out-there, fantastical outfit from the Alexander McQueen runway that absolutely nobody would dare wear in real life – nobody, that is, except for Anna Dello Russo. She is the master of taking the fantasy of fashion and making it a reality. She floated into the Kenzo show during Paris Fashion Week in this elaborate feather dress and mirrored visor sunglasses. It was the theater of fashion, amazing to watch – especially at 10am on a Sunday morning.
Ruby Jean Wilson, After Louis Vuitton
Texture Play, Outside Chanel
One way to keep winter clothes from getting boring is to seek out interesting textures. Love how this guest combined a black and white graphic popcorn sweater with a quilted A-line skirt at the Chanel show.
Natalia Vadianova at Valentino
Model Natalia Vadianova caused quite a stir when she appeared at the Valentino show in Paris. Here she is exiting the show in a black brocade dress with a Dior bag. Love the fun yellow sunglasses she donned to shield herself from the paparazzi, Jackie O-style.
Susie Lau at Chloe
Layering dresses over pants was a big trend on the runway for fall 2012, but few have been able to carry it off in real life as well as Susie Lau of Style Bubble. Outside the Chloe show she mixed prints in bright red and blue with a blue cardigan, two handbags and red Valentino shoes.
Dior Dress, Outside the Show
Raf Simons’ ready-to-wear debut at Dior was one of the most highly anticipated events at Paris Fashion Week, so guests really dressed to the max. This young woman wore a gorgeous blue print Dior gown to the show.
Giovanna Battaglia at Stella McCartney
Giovanna Battaglia literally stopped traffic in a graphic black and white coat outside the Stella McCartney show. Bellissima!
Hanne Gaby at Kenzo
Model Hanne Gaby Odiele left the Kenzo show in two shades of green – mint and military. Loved how this outfit also played with bits of transparency with the transparent raincoat and bag.
Miroslava at Hermes
Miroslava Mikheeva Duma put together a beautiful outfit for yesterday’s Hermes show in Paris and carried a green crocodile Hermes bag.
Anna Wintour in Prada
Anna Wintour wore head to toe Prada to the Carven show in Paris. The Prada fall 2012 collection, both the blacks and the graphic prints, has been a big favorite of editors here. It’s already being knocked off by certain chain stores, but there’s no substitute for the original.
Embellished Feather Jacket, Outside Rochas
Beautiful embellishments of feathers and beading make this jacket extra gorgeous. We’ve been seeing the most amazing detail in the clothes at Paris Fashion Week.
