Say Cheese: Bryanboy at Valentino SS2108
Say cheese: Bryanboy laughed with us photographers outside the Valentino show in Paris. Love this jacket, which would be great for beating the wind on a blustery day like today.
If You’ve Got It… Alanna Arrington at Balmain SS2017
If you’ve got it, flaunt it! Young women who have the abs, like model Alanna Arrington, seen here after walking the Balmain show, are wearing crop tops and bandeau tops well into fall, often under a jacket.
Sporty Chic: Elina Halimi at Tommy Hilfiger FW2014
Loved this classic American sportswear look on Elina Halimi outside the Tommy Hilfiger show in NYC. There’s a twist though: that fairisle sweater by Saint Laurent is embellished with pale sequins. Celine bag.
Denim Jumpsuit: Christine Centenera at Chloe SS2015
Always on the forefront of new designers and trends, Vogue Australia editor Christine Centenera wore a pale wash denim jumpsuit printed with the word “white” by Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh to the Chloe show in Paris. We saw a lot of this designer’s sportswear on fashion week attendees – particularly the menswear.
Elina Halimi at Prabal Gurung SS2015
A cool look on Elina Halimi at the Prabal Gurung show yesterday and a great example of the sportswear/couture mashup that’s happening right now.
Helena Bordon at Issey Miyake
Loved this look on Brazil’s Helena Bordon at yesterday’s Issey Miyake show. Mixing ripped jeans and a quirky athletic-inspired tee with a floral trench and heels is daring, but it all comes together beautifully. She said that the jeans got so ripped that she had to safety pin them, but guess what? Ripped, safety-pinned jeans are definitely in fashion.
Erica Pelosini at DKNY
When in New York? Florentine Erica Pelosini dressed the part for New York fashion week, pairing a “New York” Topshop baseball jersey with a colorful red check Fausto Puglisi skirt and plaid hat at the DKNY show. The shoes are Valentino, the bag Chanel.
OK, Glass: Nina Garcia at Alexander Wang
This is happening: Editors are wearing Google Glass to the shows during New York Fashion Week. The glasses were probably gifted from Google, but any concerns the fashion industry has about their actual style quotient have not kept editors like like Nina Garcia and Eva Chen are taking them to the streets. The glasses come in several different colors including yellow, but early adopters in the fashion world are going for the neutral gray shade. Mais bien sûr: it goes with black.
Julia Sarr-Jamois at Emporio Armani
We photographers have a certain obsession with Wonderland editor Julia Sarr-Jamois’ style, and it’s gotten even keener since the last Fashion Month. She is now a cover girl for J.Crew and in print ads all over the U.S. Obviously we aren’t alone in admiring her cool, individualistic style! At the Emporio Armani show she wore an abstract houndstooth print skirt paired with a gray sweatshirt and purple leopard print clutch. The bright red sunglasses that match the skirt are the crowning touch.
Leandra Medine Photobombing Taylor Tomasi Hill, Outside Peter Som
This was a funny moment outside the shows. Both street style stars attracted a lot of attention from photographers, and Leandra Medine of the Man Repeller jokingly photo-bombed Taylor Tomasi Hill. Great outfits on both of them!
Ursina Gysi at Theyskens’ Theory
Ursina isn’t afraid of directional fashion, so don’t be afraid to take fashion direction from her. In recent seasons she has been wearing a lot of haute sportswear, like this floral embellished basketball jersey and flowing satin pants. Worn with stilettos, the look is unusual and elegant.
