Long White Sweater and Sheer Skirt, Outside Cedric Charlier FW2015
Another long white sweater, this time on a guest at the Cedric Charlier show. Not only is it great with a sheer skirt underneath, it looks super comfy.
Gaucho Hat and Ivory Silk Dress, Coachella 2015
There’s nothing like spending a few days in the beautiful California desert to help you fast forward to summer. I just got back from Coachella, where I was shooting fashion for the New York Times Styles section Instagram – @nytimesfashion – check out the whole slideshow of Coachella style here. There were too many good looks to include them all though, so you’ll see more Coachella fashion on Gastro Chic! Like this sheer ivory silk dress worn as a bikini coverup with a gaucho hat, fringe bag and high tops.
Modern Madeleine: Marianne Theodorsen at Sacai FW2015
During Fashion Month it’s easy to overlook the actual photographers’ street style when some are dressed just as well as our show-going subjects. Marianne Theodorsen of the Style Devil wore a charming boater hat, collared shirt and white and ecru pleated skirt to shoot outside the shows in Paris yesterday. Modern Madeleine.
Elisa Nalin at Vivette FW2015
A great yellow brocade look in Vivetta outside the show in Milan on Elisa Nalin. And the Stan Smith Adidas: this is the favorite shoe of the fashion crowd now.
Helena Bordon at Roberto Cavalli FW2015
Helena Bordon wore a cute Bugs Bunny-themed Moschino dress to the Roberto Cavalli show in Milan. A shot of her palm print Les Petits Jouers backpack, after the jump. (more…)
Linda Tol at Fendi FW2015
Danielle Bernstein at Rebecca Minkoff
Danielle Bernstein of We Wore What arrived at the Rebecca Minkoff show in New York in a fur-trimmed caramel colored sweater.
Anna Dello Russo in Yohji Yamamoto
Perhaps in anticipation of the manga-themed spread she did for Vogue Japan, Anna Dello Russo wore several amazing graphic prints to the couture shows in Paris. At the Dior show, she wore an oversize Yohji Yamamoto coat emblazoned with Japanese cartoon imagery.
High Style and Street: Veronika Heilbrunner at Stephane Rolland SS2015
Harper’s Bazaar Germany editor Veronika Heilbrunner always looks great throughout fashion week, but this was my favorite outfit of hers during couture. She took a diaphanous floral Erdem dress and layered it over a white turtleneck, black leggings and sneakers. What a cool mix of high style and street.
Winter White: Eva Chen at Derek Lam SS2015
New York women are not afraid to pile on the layers when the mercury drops. Case in point: Eva Chen during last year’s freezing cold fashion week, bundled up in winter white and silver sneakers, still looking chic.
Good Sport: Kyle Anderson at Peter Som SS2015
Let’s hear it for the boys: WWD announced yesterday that the CFDA is starting up a separate men’s fashion week in New York this July. And why not? American men’s fashion is extremely influential around the globe. At the Peter Som show in NY, one of those influencers, Kyle Anderson of Marie Claire, wore an amazing MBMJ Nascar-inspired jacket, mesh shirt and a flight suit, partly undone and tied around his waist.
Xiao Wen Ju in Kenzo, After the Show SS2015
Colorful knits can be like visual vitamin C during a long winter and make great holiday gifts. Model Xiao Wen Ju wore a pink, blue and black sweater, scarf and top by Kenzo after walking the show in Paris.
Bandana-Rama: Soo Joo Park, After Chanel SS2015
Model Soo Joo Park left the Chanel show clad in Chanel, including a double C printed bandana-style silk scarf. Bandana motifs have been big both at Chanel and Saint Laurent, and if you don’t have the budget for one of these designs, you can always get in on the trend with just a regular black and white paisley-print bandana, $2.99 at Ricky’s.
Linda Tol at Diesel Black Gold SS2015
Blogger Linda Tol of I Believe in Pink wore a goldfish appliqué shirt and white jeans to the Diesel Black Gold show yesterday in New York. Bucket bags like this one are the bag to have this season.
Bryanboy at DKNY SS2015
There are certain people we photographers count on to bust out the wildest looks from the runway during fashion week, and Bryanboy is one of them. Though intricate and costly masks have appeared on runways at Maison Martin Margiela, Givenchy and Alexander McQueen, this one goes back to the club kid roots of this trend (and Lady Gaga). It’s an inexpensive piece by Kandigear that you can find on Amazon. The sneakers are Dior.
