Cold Shoulder: Carlotta Oddi at Gucci SS2018
We saw so much of this ribbed Calvin Klein sweater with cut-outs at the shoulder during fashion month. Carlotta Oddi wore hers with a paneled maxi skirt and boots. Cut-outs at the shoulder are still on-trend in knits and silk tops, although with a hard, straight line like a tank top, not the scooped out shoulder that has been done ad infinitum.
Sweater Weather: Nina Suess at Versus SS2018
Enjoy the great fashion weather while it lasts! Nina Suess wore a fringe skirt, floral boots and chunky knit sweater with bare legs at the Versus show in London.
Film Buff: Karlie Kloss at Diane von Furstenberg SS2018
Karlie Kloss is apparently a film buff – who knew? We are always discovering surprising things about fashion people we’ve been shooting for years. The supermodel is hosting “Movie Night With Karlie” on Freeform this winter with guests like Kendall Jenner and Jourdan Dunn. Because if you’re going to curl up for a movie, wouldn’t you rather curl up with Karlie?!
In the Red: Shiona Turini at Carven SS2018
Shiona Turini went for head-to-toe red in Paris, topping it with a Fendi fair isle sweater that’s been particularly popular this season.
Headscarf, Sweatshirt and Long Skirt, NYFW SS2017
Streetwear is making major inroads into high fashion – but within this development lies a major possibility for error. Unless you’re still actually in gym class, you probably don’t want to go for a head-to-toe streetwear look. Here is one way to wear the chunky, oversize sweatshirts that are already appearing in stores for fall. A guest at NY Fashion Week mixed hers with a long tiered skirt, heels, patent leather bag and a headscarf for a perfectly polished outfit that was also on trend.
Daytime Chic: Midi Skirt and Button-Down, Outside Valentino Resort 2018
The midi skirt paired with a button-down shirt is shaping up to be a key daytime look for spring/summer 2017. This polished but pretty Valentino skirt was spotted on a couple of guests at the resort show in NYC.
Throwback Thursday: Caroline Seiber at Chloe FW2012
A good indicator of great style: An outfit from five years ago still looks au courant today, as with Caroline Seiber at the Chloe show in the Tuileries in March 2012.
Clara Racz at Calvin Klein FW2017
A nice vintage mix of dressy and casual on Clara Racz at the Calvin Klein show this winter.
Details, NYC, November 2016
Winter may be upon us, but that hasn’t stopped New Yorkers from dressing up in the morning. In downtown Manhattan, a woman mixed a fringe bag with black and nude brick motif tights and combat boots.
Luxe Layers: Susie Bubble at Carven SS2017
One item we spotted several times during fashion month: sheer tulle skirts worn over skirts or jeans. They may not add much in terms of warmth, but they do add some whimsy and glamour to an outfit, as seen on Susie Bubble at the Carven show in Paris.
I Zig, You Zag: Charlotte Groeneveld at Carven SS2017
The zig zag knit, popularized by Missoni, is a classic that never goes out of style. It’s also a cozy way to sweater-dress. Charlotte Groeneveld wore a zig zag knit sweater and dress by Chloe to the shows in Paris.
Mix and Match: Samantha Angelo at Mugler SS2017
Mix and match: Samantha Angelo of the Eye Travels tied a Saint Pablo tee by Kanye West around a Prada skirt. That’s Kim K. playing “bikini tennis” in the photo.
Making the Cut: Vika Gazinskaya at Chalayan SS2017
Love the roomy cut of designer Vika Gazinskaya’s skirt and top, as seen at the Chalayan show in Paris. Comfort is key for fall/winter 2016.
Knitted Out: Veronika Heilbrunner at Loewe SS2017
Knitwear is taking on more and more interesting forms, as seen on Veronika Heilbrunner, who wore a knit skirt with keyhole openings at the sides and a sleeveless sweater with yarn fringe, both by Loewe, at the show in Paris.
Remixing the Classics: Natasha Goldenberg at Carven SS2017
Forest green and Prince of Wales plaid are classics for fall, but the style is new on Natasha Goldenberg at the Carven show in Paris. Look for more – much more! – of the broad shoulder cut of this jacket and midi length of the skirt – they were all over the runways for spring.
