Animal Instincts: Tina Leung at Cavalli FW2015
Tina Leung mixed a zebra print top and leather skirt by Cavalli with a Bulgari snake bracelet and clutch at the Cavalli show in Milan. The sexy shoes are Alaia. Bag detail, after the jump. (more…)
Leila Yavari at Jil Sander FW2015
Stylebop fashion director Leila Yavari wore an elegant combination of Celine white culottes and vest with black and white Chloe shoes to the Jil Sander show in Milan.
Laura Comolli at Rebecca Minkoff FW2015
Winter white is also a great way to transition into spring. Blogger Laura Comolli of Purses and I dared to bare her ankles at the Rebecca Minkoff show in New York, mixing white cotton pants with a fur-trimmed eggshell white coat and colorful Paola Cademartori bag.
Kate Foley at Creatures of the Wind FW2015
Fur-lined parka, striped midi skirt, embellished sweater and a pop of color in the form of a green bag: Kate Foley sported a chic mix at the Creatures of the Wind show in New York.
Signs of Spring: Natalie Cantell at BCBG FW2015
It’s frigid here in New York, so it was good to see a few signs of spring in the clothes yesterday. Stylist Natalie Cantell wore a botanical print Karen Walker coat to the BCBG show yesterday. Another thing we’ve been seeing in the fashion crowd no matter how cold it gets: bare ankles.
Natalie Joos at Rochas FW2014
A great play on texture and stripes by Natalie Joos at last winter’s Rochas show. Wrapping oneself in oversize knits is a concept that really appeals to me right now.
Bundled Up: Irene Kim at Tory Burch FW2014
I still remember this bitterly cold morning last February. Model Irene Kim handled it with style, wearing a black leather jacket like a cardigan under an oversized fur coat. The white dress underneath is a nice sign of spring.
Virginia Smith at Maison Margiela SS2015
Look for more graphic prints like this one seen at the Maison Margiela SS2015 show on Vogue’s Virginia Smith. John Galliano debuted as Maison Margiela’s new head designer with a couture collection today that has received very positive reviews.
Natalya Bogacheva at Rick Owens SS2015
Moi, je ne suis pas Charlie.
I am not nearly as daring or provocative as the cartoonists and editors behind Charlie Hebdo. But like many I am drawn to the provocateurs. Artists and free thinkers are indelibly associated with the city of Paris and should be always. In the world of fashion they would be the punks or those who dare to wear the crazy things no one else would. At the Rick Owens show, Natalya Bogacheva was one of them, donning Thom Browne’s rabbit ears hat and mask to twirl in front of the Eiffel Tower. Vive la Paris.
Karla Martinez at Comme des Garcons
W Mag’s Karla Martinez looked impeccably stylish in a great Celine scarf outside the Comme des Garçons show in Paris. I love how she layered different colors and textures to make a unified whole.
Carine Roitfeld at Comme des Garcons SS2015
No matter what age we are, we can all take fashion inspiration from Carine Roitfeld. She manages to stay both on trend yet true to her personal style year after year. Before pencil skirts started popping up on runways everywhere, she was wearing them, bringing a classic trend into the new millenium.
Black Leather Fringe, Outside BCBG
Adding a little bit – or a lot – of fringe makes skirts and dresses just a little bit sexier, especially when they’re in motion. At the BCBG show in NYC, a guest wore a leather fringe skirt and Aquazzura peep toe booties.
Lady in Red: Natalie Joos in Valentino
I like how Natalie Joos of Tales of Endearment can take new clothes, like this red mini dress by Valentino, and give them her own vintage-y spin. She brings out the ’50s styling in the dress by pairing it with a red headscarf and shades.
White After Labor Day: Ece Sukan at Elie Saab SS2015
You might want to take advantage of the next few days of 70+ degree weather in NYC to wear all white, a trend that kept going in Paris long after August had ended. Turkish Vogue‘s Ece Sukan cut a sharp profile in a white cotton jacket and skirt with a side slit.
