Color Story: Margaret Zhang at Chloe FW2015
It may still be too cold for shorts, but you can always change the story by shifting to spring colors, like this caramel and navy outfit on Margaret Zhang at Chloe. A silk scarf tied at the neck is not just a classic look but an instant spring 2015 update.
Clara Racz at Jil Sander FW2015
Blogger Clara Racz always wears a cool combination of vintage clothes, this time drawing on the Western theme that’s been in fashion with a fringed and beaded suede jacket, cowboy boots and red scarf tied at the neck.
Rebel With a Cause: Ken Downing at DKNY FW2015
Neiman Marcus’ fashion director Ken Downing wore minimalist black with blue mirrored sunglasses while traveling from show to show in NYC.
Bye Bye, NY! Irina Kravchenko at Rebecca Minkoff FW2015
Bye bye, NY – I am heading to Milan and Paris for the next fashion weeks. The last time I traveled, I got stuck in Charles de Gaulle airport, but at least it was with super stylish model Irina Kravchenko. Here’s wishing everyone safe travels this fashion season.
Shiona Turini at Tommy Hilfiger FW2015
Here’s that military look in drab green we mentioned earlier. But Shiona Turini, who is anything but drab, dressed it up with a fuchsia scarf and lace-up boots.
Eleonora Carisi at Tory Burch FW2015
New York fashion week guests braved the snow to go to the shows yesterday, including Italian blogger Eleonora Carisi. She wore a black and red fur and sheer red skirt over black tights to the Tory Burch show yesterday.
Anna Wintour at Rodarte FW2015
Tina Leung at Derek Lam FW2015
Tina Leung made an impact at the Derek Lam show with a bright orange dress and big white fur coat. It’s always nice to see a burst of citrus color in the dead of winter!
Sasha Luss and Kremi Otashliyska, After Chanel Couture SS2015
Two cute and practical looks on models Sasha Luss and Kremi Otashliyska after the Chanel couture show in Paris. When prepping for Fashion Month, which begins this week and does not end until March 11th, I always look at what the models are wearing. Like us photographers, they are literally running between shows – but looking good doing it.
Paris Couture Week for @nytimesfashion
I just got back from Paris, where I covered street style outside the Paris S/S 2015 couture shows for the New York Times Styles section – check out the slideshow of all my street style photos for them here! All of these photos appeared on Instagram at @nytimesfashion, where the Styles section publishes up-to-the minute fashion photography from around the world – definitely an account worth following. If you missed it, you can also follow me on Instagram at @gastrochic for yet more street style and food photos.
New in this street style slideshow is my photo of Carla Bruni attending one of the shows. The former first lady of France wore skin tight leather pants on the first day of Paris couture… what a way to make an entrance!
Karla Martinez at Comme des Garcons
W Mag’s Karla Martinez looked impeccably stylish in a great Celine scarf outside the Comme des Garçons show in Paris. I love how she layered different colors and textures to make a unified whole.
Wrap It Up: Auguste Abeliunaite at Prabal Gurung SS2015
A belted coat is an elegant way to fend off the cold. Model Auguste Abeliunaite paired a gray tie-waist coat with black leather pants, boots and a big Prada bag after the Prabal Gurung show in New York.
Xiao Wen Ju in Kenzo, After the Show SS2015
Colorful knits can be like visual vitamin C during a long winter and make great holiday gifts. Model Xiao Wen Ju wore a pink, blue and black sweater, scarf and top by Kenzo after walking the show in Paris.
Bandana-Rama: Soo Joo Park, After Chanel SS2015
Model Soo Joo Park left the Chanel show clad in Chanel, including a double C printed bandana-style silk scarf. Bandana motifs have been big both at Chanel and Saint Laurent, and if you don’t have the budget for one of these designs, you can always get in on the trend with just a regular black and white paisley-print bandana, $2.99 at Ricky’s.
Silk Scarves Are Back: Sasha Luss After Fendi
Normcore is one thing, but the return of the brightly colored silk scarf might provoke more dejà vu in some of us. This ’90s staple was seen loosely tied on many a fashionable neck at the Milan shows, which is nowhere near the Upper East Side BTW. After the Fendi show, model Sasha Luss paired hers with a trench and cuffed jeans.
