Black and Red: David Thielebeule at Tory Burch SS2018
A cool day-to-night look on David Thielebeule, who’s just as comfortable hopping from city to city for fashion weeks as he is chilling out in the country. As I know, because after seeing him in New York, Milan and Paris, I ran into him in a Westchester apple orchard! Great minds think alike? He’s always well dressed, no matter what the occasion. I like that this look is just the tiniest bit disco and therefore very on trend.
Walk the Line: Sita Abellan at JW Anderson SS2018
Love the always-colorful looks on Sita Abellan at the shows. At the J.W. Anderson show, she mixed a shearling jacket with a bright red print dress – and of course, her signature colorful hair.
In the Red: Shiona Turini at Carven SS2018
Shiona Turini went for head-to-toe red in Paris, topping it with a Fendi fair isle sweater that’s been particularly popular this season.
Entrenched: Elizabeth von Guttman at Stella McCartney SS2018
Trench coats are back in full force in a a variety of fabrics, especially plaids. This doesn’t mean you have to tone down what goes underneath, however: Elizabeth von Guttman wore hers with bright red track pants.
Traffic-Stopping Red: Marjan Jonkman at Alberta Ferretti SS2017
Bright red is on track to become one of the big trends this fall, a color seen on model Marjan Jonkman last September. It looks especially sharp with black and white pinstripes. She was also ahead of the curve on ribbed sweaters, which are making a comeback.
Top Frock: Kelly Anna Polk at the Met Museum Young Members Party 2017
More summer parties coming your way? A backless Halston dress in bright red really makes a statement, as seen on Kelly Anna Polk at the Met Museum.
Red and White: Tina Leung at Tory Burch FW2017
A pretty look in red and white on Tina Leung – and a good lesson in layering spring dresses when the weather isn’t cooperating!
Red and Blue: Aimee Song at Chanel FW2017
Aimee Song wore the color combo of red and blue to the Chanel show in Paris. The chambray jacket and skirt are a great way to welcome the warmer weather – and these Chanel mules are particularly popular with the fashion crowd.
Directional: Camille Charrière in Orange and Red
These clashing colors on Camille Charrière early in NY fashion week turned out to be a good indicator of trends we would see throughout the month, when guests at the shows mixed clashing pink and red or orange and red for visual impact. The Celine crossbody bag is also a favorite with the fashion crowd.
Red Belted Coat, Outside Carolina Herrera FW2016
A belted and embroidered red coat seen outside the Carolina Herrera show has a pretty, folklore-y appeal that’s perfect for the holidays.
Irene Kim at Sacai SS2017
Loved the details in this look on Irene Kim at Sacai: the strappy black leather overalls, the cutouts in the sweater, and the crushed velvet boots. Even better: her outfit matches her hair!
Making the Transition: Paola Alberdi at Carolina Herrera SS2017
Transitional weather calls for a transitional look: Paola Alberdi layered a navy and red coat over a polka dot jumpsuit at the Carolina Herrera show in New York.
Chriselle Lim at Armani Prive FW2016
Beautiful blue, white and red on Chriselle Lim, who kept it casual but elegant at the Armani Privé show in Paris.
Darja Barannik at Cedric Charlier FW2016
Clothes that work for the office don’t have to be dowdy. At the Cedric Charlier show in Paris, Darja Barannik combined a midi skirt and jacket with heels and a crossbody chain bag for a look that’s both professional and fashionable – in Gucci green and red colors.
