Tracee Ellis Ross wore bright bubble-gum pink to the Prada resort show – a fun burst of color on a warm night. It was great to see a celeb pairing a cocktail dress with sneakers, a trend we’ve seen on the kids of NYC that may be making its way to the red carpet.

Hamish Bowles in a Swarovski Crystal Bow Tie, 2012 CFDA Awards
As usual, Hamish Bowles takes the award for best in men’s fashion. At the 2012 CFDA Awards, sponsored by Swarovski, he wore a Swarovski crystal bow tie with his tux. The magenta socks are the icing on the cake.

Jessica Paré in Jason Wu, 2012 CFDA Awards
I am completely obsessed with Mad Men actress Jessica Paré. She had me at “Zou Bisou Bisou.” And she looked just as amazing in person when she walked the red carpet at this week’s CFDA Awards in this beaded black and fuchsia Jason Wu dress. Cute but edgy, much like her character on the show. The tassel earrings are by Eddie Borgo, another CFDA nominee.

Garance Doré and Scott Schuman, 2012 CFDA Awards
One of the issues many people have with black tie dressing: they get all dolled up in a style that doesn’t look anything like the way they normally dress. So it was refreshing to see Garance Doré and Scott Schuman looking like their normal selves to receive the CFDA media award, only even more fabulous. Garance wore a green Derek Lam dress, a nice, cheerful flash of color on the red carpet, and Scott a Dior tux. Congrats for the award, and especially for keeping it clean when so many other bloggers blur the line between editorial and advertising.

Arizona Muse in Diane von Furstenberg, 2012 CFDA Awards
Model Arizona Muse wore head-to-toe Diane von Furstenberg to the CFDA Awards. The silver puffer paisley dress and knee-high boots were particularly refreshing since this mod look runs completely counter to the rather tired mermaid dress trend. Like Arizona herself, this DVF outfit is a breath of fresh air.

Tabitha Simmons and Karen Elson in Proenza Schouler, 2012 CFDA Awards
Tabitha Simmons’ shoes have become a big favorite for celebs walking the red carpet, so it’s no surprise that the designer herself looked perfectly at ease in the same environment. The designer and former model, who won the Swarovski award for accessory design, wore a Proenza Schouler jacket and dress and shoes of her own design, as did model Karen Elson, in a green Proenza Schouler ensemble. These were two of my favorite red carpet looks of the night – elegant but daring.

Model Hilary Rhoda wore this fabulous blue Rebecca Minkoff dress to the 2012 CFDA Awards. The vivid color, the complex structure and sexy cutouts all combine for a modern bombshell effect.

Met Gala: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Burberry
Model and Transformers star Rosie Huntington-Whiteley left the Mark Hotel last night en route to the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute gala. The face of Burberry Body, she naturally wore Burberry – a long, beaded bronze and black striped gown with long sleeves. It was such an elegant look, made more so by the classic updo and Irene Neuwirth earrings. And the man on her arm who’s photographing the crowd of photographers? That’s Mario Testino.
