Flare Up: Red Dress and Valentino Bag at Milan Fashion Week SS2019
This was one of many logo’d bags seen this Fashion Month, and a new interpretation of the Valentino logo as conceived by the “kids” on Pierpaolo Piccioli’s design team. Look out for logo mania to take hold…

Laverne Cox at the Planned Parenthood Gala 2018
Actress, activist and honoree Laverne Cox wore more bright red to the Planned Parenthood gala earlier this May.
Dramatic Effect: Red Gown and White Bag at the Planned Parenthood Gala 2018
Planned Parenthood held a gala earlier this month, and several guests wore saturated red. This look in particular with a white bag had echoes of the Handmaid’s Tale, with its visually stunning scenes of Margaret Atwood’s handmaids swirling by in identical long red dresses and white caps. Is this what has fashion seeing red this season? The Hello Kitty phone lightens it up.
Lady in Red: Bee Shaffer at the Met Gala 2018
Bee Shaffer, arguably the next “royal” – at least in fashion circles – to be married, looked gorgeous in bright red at this year’s Met Gala, which her mother Anna Wintour hosted as usual. This saturated red has been one of the biggest fashion takeaways in NYC this spring, a color spotted everywhere from evening gowns at the Met Gala to bright puffer jackets on the L train. (Spring weather took a long time coming.)
Also love how Bee’s fiancé Francesco Carrozzini (son of Vogue Italia’s Franca Sozzani) matched his socks to her dress. The couple that dresses together…
Color Play: Striped Dress and Red Heels, Astor Place, April 2018
Spotted in Astor Place: someone who obviously has an eye for color – even the coffee cup sleeve picks up on the red in the rest of her outfit. The Blick Art Supply bag may be the ultimate artsy accessory.
Saturation Point: Cherry Red Florals, Noho, April 2018
Normally I wouldn’t associate bright, saturated cherry red with spring, when pastels are usually the order of the day, but this color has been everywhere in NYC this season, especially on coats and jackets. Bright red flowers stood out on this robe coat in Noho.
Step to It: Padma Lakshmi at Variety’s Power of Women Luncheon
Not surprisingly, we saw a lot of pantsuits at Variety’s Power of Women luncheon, where Hillary Clinton spoke, but Padma Lakshmi’s was red hot. (more…)
Red Means Stop: Aimee Song at Valentino FW2018
Black, White and Red All Over: Caroline Daur at Altuzarra FW2018
Hold the Phone: NYFW?!
Hold the phone: It’s already New York Fashion Week?! Yes, and we’ll be out there, no matter what the weather!
Red Scarf and Louis Vuitton Bag, Outside Paul Smith FW2017
Start Spreading the News: Veronika Heilbrunner and Justin O’Shea
Congrats to Veronika Heilbrunner and Justin O’Shea, who announced that they are expecting their first child. Here they are in October 2014, dancing after the Valentino show in the Tuileries.
Into the Wind: Pandora Sykes at Christopher Kane SS2018
Love the flirty drama of this look on Pandora Sykes – red patent boots combined with pink and red florals combined with wind.
Making the Rounds: Red Coat and White Celine Bag, Outside Lacoste SS2018
This boxy white Celine bag was making the rounds this past fashion month and should be back in full force for spring. Think of it as luxe granny chic. It looked particularly good paired with a bright red coat and heels.
