Anna Wintour at Valentino Couture
Anna Wintour wore a gorgeous moss green coat to yesterday’s Valentino show on a chilly summer evening in Paris. Earlier that day she was spotted having lunch at Voltaire with Nicolas Ghesquière. Look for more news about Ghesquière: Rumor has it that change is afoot at one of the major French fashion houses.
Jamie Bochert at Saint Laurent Men’s
Bonjour cheris and welcome to Paris! This week, prepare for lots of photos from Paris couture.
Yesterday we caught the tail end of Paris men’s fashion week. Jamie Bochert, model and muse of Marc Jacobs, attended the Saint Laurent men’s show in a pink cardigan (pretty sure it is Louis Vuitton) over a sheer black lace top.
Printed Polo, Outside DKNY
Sometimes a snazzy shirt is all you need. This guy is one of many to mix daywear with neon bright sneakers – a high-low combination that works especially well if you add luxe accessories like a leather zip bag.
Snakeskin Print Tee, Outside Derek Lam
Graphic print tees are a cool way to amp up your summer wardrobe, but building an outfit around them can be challenging. This guy at the Derek Lam show layered a snakeskin print tee over a white button down and paired it with neutral khakis and black accessories – a strategy that would work for men and women.
Eva Chen at Peter Som
Even in summer, fashion people tend to gravitate towards black clothing. But it’s nice to mix it up with a colorful print, as Eva Chen does here in a black Marc Jacobs swan print dress outside the Peter Som show. The Miu Miu glitter sunglasses make it even more fun.
Printed Pants and Hermes Bag, Lincoln Center
Bring on the heat! One benefit of scorching temperatures: there’s no reason not to break out your most colorful, tropical prints, like these printed pants seen on a guest at New York fashion week. Paring them with a simple black tee and black Hermes bag keeps the look from going over the top, but the blue mesh earrings are still fun, colorful and light.
Zanna Roberts Rassi at Lincoln Center
Zanna Roberts Rassi cleverly layered a cross-print sundress with a black tee underneath and motorcycle jacket on top for a great combination of edgy and girly.
Two Rainy Day Looks, Outside Marni
A rainy day is no excuse to slouch in the style department: just make sure you have an excellent umbrella. In the cold rain outside the Marni show in Milan, Eleanora Carisi and Candela Novembre looked chic in Marni S/S 2013 outfits. Novembre’s bag is Prada, the umbrella is Chanel. And before you ditch all your platform shoes in favor of the flat soles in stores now, remember, they’re the fashionista’s version of rain boots. Detail shot of that bag, after the jump.
Two Spring Looks at Diesel Black Gold
Two editors at the Diesel Black Gold show put together great outfits for spring, pairing pale cotton pants with bright colors or prints on top. Note the cropped length of the pants: it’s sexy and chic to show a little ankle, especially with heels.
Doina Ciobanu at Gucci
At the Gucci show in Milan, blogger Doina Ciobanu of the Golden Diamonds wore a print that riffed on the popular vertical black and white Louis Vuitton stripes. Here the print is abstract and cut on the diagonal – very cool.
Mademoiselle Yulia at Kenzo
Colorful abstract leopard prints by Kenzo got a lot of play outside the shows in Paris, especially at Kenzo’s own show, where Japanese DJ and designer Mademoiselle Yulia wore a Kenzo dress and coat that complemented her elaborately multicolored hair.
Anne Catherine Frey at Viktor & Rolf
Fashion blogger and Luxembourger Anne Catherine Frey wore a Carven dress and Sandro biker jacket to the Viktor & Rolf show in Paris. I love these pale blues for the beginning of spring. Detail shot of the dress, which features a map of Paris, after the jump. (more…)
Michelle Elie at Kenzo
Garage Magazine‘s Michelle Elie is one of my favorite women to photograph at fashion week, because she’s not afraid to take risks. She wore a particularly cool outfit to the Kenzo show: Kenzo top, Miu Miu platforms, and an H&M visor. Close up of those shoes, after the jump. (more…)
Caroline Issa at Jil Sander
What’s big for fall 2013? Skirts! There’s no reason not to get into this trend now, especially as fun print skirts like this Emilia Wickstead skirt on Caroline Issa debut for spring. The camel coat is Schumacher.
Susie Lau at Ann Demeulemeester
Style Bubble’s Susie Lau wore her trademark cheerful bright colors to the Ann Demeulemeester show. Her outfits were a breath of fresh air during the gloomy, overcast days of Paris fashion week.
Spring: you can will it to be here with your clothing! I think it’s one’s civic duty to dress colorfully in urban areas during this time of year, since we don’t have as many flowers. People have to be the flowers.
