Viviana Volpicella at Valentino
Another example of the full skirts à la Dior that are in fashion now. When splashed with a big print, they’re like a pretty canvas, as on Viviana Volpicella at the Valentino show. Like how she has paired it with a simple navy blue sweater and button-down shirt to keep it grounded.
Linda Tol at Rochas
Linda Tol wore a vivid green cactus-print top and skirt by What’s Inside You, a clothing line by fellow blogger Eleanora Carisi, to the Rochas show yesterday in Paris. Also: Nike running shoes, the unexpected footwear of choice for many trendsetters during Fashion Month. Detail shot of her bag, after the jump. (more…)
Grace Mahary at Dries van Noten
Welcome to Paris fashion week! Today was spring 2014 show of Dries van Noten, a favorite designer of many fashion people. Model Grace Mahary exited the show in a fringe dress and beautiful print scarf by the designer.
Anna Dello Russo at Missoni
I must say I was skeptical of the religious icon-themed Dolce & Gabbana fall/winter 2013 collection when it was on the runways last year. Decking yourself out in an elaborate Byzantine mosaic? Really? But I must say the clothes and bags look beautiful in real life, glittering in the sunshine – and someone like Anna Dello Russo can really pull it off.
Simone Marchetti at Armani
La Repubblica‘s Simone Marchetti is one of the most dapper men on the European fashion scene. Camouflage has been a continuing motif for him, now updated in a pixelated houndtooth print version in this jacket, which I think is Valentino.
P.S. He is really fun to follow on Instagram if you want an inside look at the fashion world and, when he’s off duty, la dolce vita.
Christine Centenera at Dolce & Gabbana
Vogue Australia‘s Christine Centenera looked amazing in a Peter Pilotto graphic print dress at yesterday’s Dolce & Gabbana show in Milan. The London-based Pilotto has quickly become a favorite of the fashion set.
Blue Carreon at BCBG
One of my favorite guys to photograph, Blue Carreon, wore his signature blue to the BCBG show in a print blazer with white chinos and loafers.
Natalie Joos at Peter Som
At the Peter Som show on Saturday, Natalie Joos wore a vivid, swingy look that could have come right off the spring runways. The top is Peter Pilotto, the pants Mister Zimi, and the two go wonderfully together. The look from behind, after the jump. (more…)
Kate Dimmock at Creatures of the Wind
Kate Dimmock of People Style Watch wore a great red and blue print dress to the Creatures of the Wind show yesterday. The up-and-coming designers have attracted the attention of many major fashion editors.
Pineapple Print Dress, Outside Chanel Couture
Cornucopia: A pineapple print dress outside the Chanel couture show was perfectly in sync with the abundance of the season. Bring on the fruit prints for these last few weeks of summer.
Two Girls at the Parisian Ball, Governor’s Island
This summer has presented some real sartorial challenges when it comes to outdoor events in NYC. This Saturday’s new Parisian Ball on Governor’s Island, a big Bastille Day bash complete with vintage carnival rides, started out drizzly but hot for a long event that wouldn’t end til midnight. These two guests rose to the challenge with outdoor festival wear that’s practical but pretty – overalls paired with nautical stripes and a blue and red head wreath on the left and a blue and white print top with red and white earrings on the right.
Susie Bubble at Valentino
Fashion blogger Susie Bubble always stands out in a crowd. At the Valentino show, she wore Chanel shorts (vintage I think) a colorful print top and chunky heels and headphones. The element that brings it all together: the color blue.
Natalie Joos at Dior
One from the archives – I love these layers of colorful silk for summer, seen here on Natalie Joos outside a Dior show. The red lipstick and accessories add extra polish.
Sofia Sanchez in Mary Katrantzou
I loved what Sofia Sanchez wore to last week’s couture shows, especially this colorful print dress by Mary Katrantzou at the Dior couture show. This was on a very hot day, and she still managed to look calm, cool and quite chic.
Magda Laguinge at Viktor & Rolf
Bye bye, Paris! Couture week is officially over, but we have many more photos to come. Model Magda Laguinge waved goodbye til the next fashion week season (a mere 10 weeks away…!) outside the Viktor & Rolf couture show.
