Natalie Joos at Derek Lam
Stylist Natalie Joos looked utterly charming at the Derek Lam show dressed in a vintage top, Oscar de la Renta skirt, Prada Bag, Tom Ford sunglasses and Aldo shoes. Love the mix of tropical colors and prints. Tropical prints have been a surprising hit for early fall.
Bryanboy at Marni
Fashion blogger Bryanboy arrived at Milan’s Marni show in style. Love how the Roberto Cavalli fur plays off the pattern of the Suno pants. The sweater is Comme des Garcons, the yellow bag Dolce & Gabbana, the studded shoes Prada.
Denni in Fausto Puglisi
Fashion blogger Denni of Chic Muse posed for us on the tram tracks outside the Dolce & Gabbana show. This was a real fashion risk, mind you, because these are active tracks with huge trams running through every few minutes! Her Fausto Puglisi is also a fashion risk in all the right ways. Love the elaborate beading at the waist and the flared skirt. The bag is vintage Gucci, the shoes Prada.
Anna Dello Russo in Prada
We’ve all been waiting to see Prada’s spring race car-themed collection in person, and here it is, on Anna Dello Russo in Milan. The race car imagery and flame-licked heels are over-the-top fabulous, just like Anna. Shoe shot after the jump. (more…)
Polka Dot Dress at Ann Demeulemeester
Of all the current and runway trends to emerge from fashion week, one thing was clear: the tough biker looks of years past have given way to a new ladylike aesthetic. This black and white polka dot dress with white Prada bag, pearls and Hollywood movie star sunglasses is a great example of the tailored, pretty new look.
Postscript: She is Shala Monroque of ShalasRabbitHole.com.
Miroslava Mikheeva Duma at Stella McCartney
Another Russian who’s been making waves at Paris fashion week is fashion correspondent Miroslava Mikheeva Duma, seen here in a fringed suede Prada dress that she described as “old,” aka vintage. Love the saturated fall colors.
Accessorizing With Flowers, Outside Valentino
Here’s another way to accessorize with florals this spring: carry a bouquet. This industry insider was often spotted with fresh flowers on the way to the shows. The fleurs are not only a nice gesture but a beautiful burst of color that plays off her electric blue and green Prada fur scarf.
Prada Monkey Top, Outside Viktor & Rolf
Prada’s spring 2011 collection has been a huge hit with buyers and editors, who wore many of Prada’s colorful stripes, fur scarves and brightly printed tops to the Paris shows. This Prada monkey print top gives new meaning to the term “animal print” and has been just as coveted as the leopard prints of fall.
Sarah Rutson at Chloe
Fashion bellwether and Lane Crawford buyer Sarah Rutson has been wearing a lot of stripes, and you know what that means: everyone else will be wearing a lot of stripes very soon. This chic outfit combines two stripe patterns, fishnets and lace-up heels in Rutson’s signature mix of sporty and sexy.
Addendum: She is in Prada SS 2011 – though Rutson actually improved on the runway styling by mixing up the colors of the jacket and skirt!
Sailor Stripes, Outside Louis Vuitton
Keep an eye out for this woman, because she attracted the attention of many street style photographers outside the Louis Vuitton show in Paris. The look is effortlessly cool, even laid back: sailor striped shirt paired with a double breasted navy blazer, white pants and blue “flatform” shoes. And yet everything hits the right note. I like that her hair is a bit mussed – it keeps the whole thing from looking too done.
Addendum: These are the Prada flatforms that are getting so much flak from non-admirers. They actually look perfectly good in real life.
