Nabile Quenum at Maison Margiela Couture FW2014
RIP to one of my fellow street style photographers, the Parisian Nabile Quenum, who contributed to Vogue, New York Magazine, and many other outlets. He was one of the best-dressed photographers out there and had a wicked sense of humor. I’m not sure who I’ll turn to anymore to make fun of Parisians and their ways – I loved ribbing him about this stuff. Repose en paix, notre ami.
Go With the Flow: Tamu McPherson at Altuzarra SS2017
A flowy floral kimono is the perfect topper on cool late summer days, as seen on photographer and blogger Tamu McPherson of All the Pretty Birds at the Altuzarra show in NYC.
Hanneli Mustaparta at Prabal Gurung SS2015
This drab green color made a big impact in menswear this summer, and we can expect to see more of it on the streets come September. It telegraphs “back to work” – but when mixed with an unexpected baby blue crop top on Hanneli Mustaparta, it’s not all work and no play.
Candice Lake at Moncler Gamme Rouge FW2015
Photographer and blogger Candice Lake wore a pretty combination of a long suede coat and long white tulle ruffled skirt with boots at the Moncler Gamme Rouge show in Paris. No matter how edgy and dark fashion (and fashion photography) can get – romance is not dead!
Phil Oh at Chanel Haute Couture FW2014
Loved this palm tree print jacket on Phil Oh at Chanel haute couture. Jackets are the perfect canvas for the intricate prints in fashion now in menswear and womenswear alike – worth noting for fall.
Hanneli Mustaparta at 3.1 Phillip Lim
The fabulous Hanneli Mustaparta arrived at 3.1 Phillip Lim in the designer’s white and blue look.

Karl-Edwin Guerre at Etro
I have to keep reminding myself that as a street style photographer, it is possible to look good in bad weather during fashion week. It is possible it is possible it is possible… Case in point: the ever-dapper Karl-Edwin Guerre of Guerrisms seen here on a miserably wet day outside the Etro show in Milan.
Fashion people, take heart and use your clothes as beautiful armor against this snowy weather. I know I will when I hit the streets for New York Fashion Week – starting tomorrow!
Tamu McPherson at Lacoste
A great coat goes a long way towards keeping you in style and warm, like this graphic black and white print coat on street style photographer Tamu McPherson of All the Pretty Birds.
Photographer in Layers at Fendi
This look is all about the mix – love how she fearlessly pairs lilac suede booties with a green print tee over an orange and white striped dress. It’s a new way of layering that really works for summer.
Candice Lake at Lacoste
Photographer Candice Lake proved that there’s no reason to slack on style just because of the weather, donning a fur hat, Hockley London shearling coat, leather pants and rugged but chic snow boots for the Lacoste show on the morning after blizzard Nemo.
Karl-Edwin Guerre at DKNY
Fellow street-style photog Karl-Edwin Guerre of Guerrisms is a snappy but practical dresser throughout all the fashion weeks. On a slushy day outside the DKNY show, he layered bright down jackets and wore L.L. Bean boot-type shoes. The retro Bean boot has been a big hit among the fashion crowd this season, partly thanks to the weather!
Candice Lake at Donna Karan
Photographer (and ex-model – can you tell?!) Candice Lake sported this great 3.1 Phillip Lim I [Heart] Nueva York tee to the Donna Karan show at NY Fashion Week. It’s especially cute paired with printed jeans and a red hat. The fur coat is Hockley London.
Garance Doré at Derek Lam
When dressing for NY Fashion Week, it’s important for us street style photographers to remember that we must spend a lot of time outside, not just dashing from the warmth of a chauffeured car to a fashion show. Therefore I am much more likely to take cues from stylish photogs like Garance Doré, who always mixes high fashion with a good dose of practicality, as with this fur-lined military parka. The pink lipstick is a nice girly touch.
Candice Lake at Derek Lam
Photographer Candice Lake lightened up a winter look with a shearling coat in pale green and cream. The bright floppy hat is the perfect topper.
