Two Party Looks, Bubble & Cube
One of the most stressful things about fashion week can be deciding what to wear – especially to the after parties. You know the quandary: dressed up, but not too much, making an effort, but not trying too hard. On the left, she wears an adorable Stevie Nicks-style hat and sexy but seasonally-appropriate black top with slit sleeves. A pop of color from hot pink lipstick is the finishing touch. On the right, this guy is on the forefront of a new trend: piled-on accessories for a male maximalist style.
Susie Lau, Bubble & Cube Party
Fashion blogger Susie Lau of Style Bubble hosted a party last night at the W Hotel Times Square showcasing her writing and the fashion photography of Shini Park of Park & Cube. Lau has always been an expert at layering, and last night wore a cardigan and openwork lace tunic over a tee and black pants for an individualistic, playful look.
Street Chic: Mr. Brainwash Party
Who is Mr. Brainwash? Is he the videographer Thierry Guetta, who set out to do a documentary on British street artist Bansky then became a street artist himself, or, as film critic Manohla Dargis suggests, is Bansky just playing a prank on all of us? You could closely examine the new exhibit Mr. Brainwash: Icons on West 13th Street or check out the (faux?) documentary “Exit Through the Gift Shop,” both opening tomorrow, for any clues. Or you could stop asking questions and start dancing and drinking champagne: neither Mr. Brainwash nor Bansky will stop you.
