Frida Gustavsson at Zac Posen
Swedish supermodel Frida Gustavsson has just as much style off the runway as on, as evidenced by the great camel cloak she wore exiting the Zac Posen show yesterday. Like nearly all the models, she kept on the exquisite makeup from the show – close up after the jump. (more…)
Alexander McQueen SS2011
This much-anticipated show was the first after Alexander McQueen’s tragic death last spring, with his friend and colleague Sarah Burton taking the reins. The show seemed to provoke a bittersweet reaction in some of the guests – you can see strains of the old McQueen in Burton’s designs, since she had been his collaborator for so long. On the runway, the long, lean, black silhouettes of her fall 2010 collection were broken up by flashes of red patent leather detailing. Outside in the courtyard of the Couvent des Cordeliers, black, minimalist clothing was favored by many of the guests, too.
She has this androgynous petit gamin look that’s just fascinating. A good example of how the guests can really bring a designer’s vision to life at a fashion show.
