Erin Wasson in Antonio Azzuolo, 2012 CFDA Awards
While there weren’t as many menswear looks on women as at last year’s CFDA Awards, model Erin Wasson went black tie with a black and white suit by CFDA-nominated designer Antonio Azzuolo.
Jessica Stam in Jason Wu, 2012 CFDA Awards
Lace was a big motif in the spring collections and also on the CFDA red carpet. Designer Jason Wu’s sheer blue silk crepe gown with a black lace underlay looked super sexy and glamorous on model Jessica Stam.
Selita Ebanks in a White Dress, 2012 CFDA Awards
There are now three photos of stylish women in white dresses on the home page. See a pattern emerging? Model Selita Ebanks did the black tie version with this Herve Leger dress, a combination of his signature bondage dress and flowing gown with silver sequin detailing.
Tabitha Simmons and Karen Elson in Proenza Schouler, 2012 CFDA Awards
Tabitha Simmons’ shoes have become a big favorite for celebs walking the red carpet, so it’s no surprise that the designer herself looked perfectly at ease in the same environment. The designer and former model, who won the Swarovski award for accessory design, wore a Proenza Schouler jacket and dress and shoes of her own design, as did model Karen Elson, in a green Proenza Schouler ensemble. These were two of my favorite red carpet looks of the night – elegant but daring.
Hilary Rhoda in Rebecca Minkoff, 2012 CFDA Awards
Rebecca Minkoff may have been nominated for a CFDA award in accessory design, but it was her dress that really wowed on last night’s red carpet. Model Hilary Rhoda wore this fabulous blue Rebecca Minkoff dress to the 2012 CFDA Awards. The vivid color, the complex structure and sexy cutouts all combine for a modern bombshell effect.
Jourdan Dunn in Burberry Prorsum
Lace was everywhere on the runways for spring 2012. Supermodel Jourdan Dunn followed suit at last night’s Met Museum Costume Institute gala, wearing a strapless off-white lace gown by Burberry Prorsum.
Aline Weber at Stella McCartney
It seems like April showers have finally caught up with us, but don’t let the weather be a downer in the fashion department. Top model Aline Weber captivated the crowd outside the Stella McCartney show with her free spirited style. Here she brightens up a gloomy Paris day with lots of boho layers – a crushed velvet blazer, mesh sweater, gypsy skirt and scarf sash.
P.S. Sorry for the watermark, but I’ve had problems with people taking and altering my photos of models!
Jacquelyn Jablonski at Sonia Rykiel
It was so terrible to learn yesterday that iconic designer Sonia Rykiel has been suffering from Parkinson’s disease for the past 15 years (story in WWD). She has continued on very bravely with her work, drawing quite a stylish crowd to her most recent show in the Tuileries. Here, model Jacquelyn Jablonski exits the show at dusk in a camel coat, white blouse, scarf draped just so, and leather leggings. The acid-green bag with her initials on the tag is the crowning touch.
Kate King at Alberta Ferretti
Model Kate King wore a sheer pale pink skirt exiting the Alberta Ferretti show. Love the color and the vintage-y style.
Julia Sarr-Jamois at Marni
During fashion week we had no idea that Julia Sarr-Jamois, editor of Wonderland, was going to be modeling in two big spring campaigns, but the results for Tibi and Barneys are quite beautiful. Here she is – a model off/on duty? – in an elaborate floral embroidered black patent leather jacket at Marni.
Tanya Dziahileva at Ann Demeulemeester
Supermodel Tanya Dziahileva posed in black leather leggings outside the Ann Demeulemeester show in Paris. Whatever happens in fashion with skirts, dresses, etc. many models favor super skinny black leather looks like this. And why not? It looks fantastic.
Karlie Kloss, After Viktor & Rolf
Perhaps no other model caused as much of a stir this fashion week as recently minted Victoria’s Secret angel Karlie Kloss. Her height, perfect proportions and almost supernaturally good looks made her a real star. Note to “normal” girls though: Don’t even try to look like Karlie Kloss. She was just beamed down from heaven this way.
Karlie exited the Viktor & Rolf show in a denim on denim look that’s been gaining popularity. For the best style, pair two contrasting shades of blue. The motorcycle boots and jacket may be classic Americana, but the bag is Chanel. Super cool super model.
Kasia Struss and Ginta Lapina, After Louis Vuitton
Paris Fashion Week ended last week, but when I close my eyes images like these still linger: gorgeous women like Kasia and Ginta against the beautiful background of the Louvre. Ginta Lapina carries what was decidedly the It Bag of fashion week: the Celine trapeze bag.
