Joan Smalls at Alexander Wang
This was one of my favorite shirt-around-the-waist outfits spotted this past fashion week, on a super cute Joan Smalls after the Alexander Wang show. I think her patchwork plaid shirt is by Equipment.
Edie Campbell at Louis Vuitton
In the final moments of Paris fashion week, model Edie Campbell opened Marc Jacobs’ final show for Louis Vuitton wearing little more than Stephen Sprouse-inspired body paint. Definitely watch the show online if you haven’t seen it already – it’s gorgeous and will surely be a historic moment in fashion. Then, she exited the tents still in full body paint – with rolly bag, on her way to the airport! It’s Edie’s trademark insouciant cool. Models: they aren’t just like us, and God bless them for it.
Grace Mahary at Dries van Noten
Welcome to Paris fashion week! Today was spring 2014 show of Dries van Noten, a favorite designer of many fashion people. Model Grace Mahary exited the show in a fringe dress and beautiful print scarf by the designer.
Bette Franke at Ralph Lauren
How gorgeous is model Bette Franke? And like many New York fashion week attendees, she traveled to the shows by bike, in this case a cool moss-green Biria with panniers. With taxis in short supply and the subway far away from many of the west side shows, bikes – regular or Citibikes – were the way to go this New York fashion week.
Joan Smalls at Gucci
One supposed “rule” of the new over-the-ankle boots is that you can’t wear them with miniskirts. Well guess what: If you have legs like Joan Smalls, you can wear them with anything. The top model exited the Gucci show in all black, including a skater skirt and sheer mesh top.
Karlie Kloss, Last Day of NY Fashion Week
Supermodel Karlie Kloss still looked glowing on the last day of a long New York Fashion Week. She may be one of a kind in the modeling world, but she was one of several trendsetters this week to wear black and white: white Rag & Bone top, black BLK DNM pants and a leopard Coach bag. The shoes are Manolos.
Hanne Gaby Odiele, After Giambattista Valli
The rest of the world may be on vacation, but some of us are already obsessing over spring/summer 2014 fashion week, which begins less than two weeks from today (!). For models and photographers, fashion week involves a lot of running around – literally. A sportif look like Hanne Gaby’s after the Giambattista Valli show is both comfortable and chic. Supreme New York floral hoodie, black skinny jeans, custom Nikes and a Valentino bag would take you from show to show – to show to show to show! – in style.
Shades of Blue, Outside Armani Prive
Another twist on the colorblocked dress, this time in various shades of blue denim, cotton and velvet on a model off duty after the Armani Privé show.
Fei Fei Sun at Valentino
Model Fei Fei Sun exited the Valentino couture show in Paris in a chic black and white trench by Phillip Lim.
Kelly Moreira at the Grand Palais
My friend Claudia of Mode Majeure and I were struck by the beauty of new model Kelly Moreira when we spotted her by the metro station outside the Grand Palais. She had just walked the Dior couture show and stopped to pose for us in this cool black and white outfit, perfect for Paris. She had only done a couple of modeling jobs so far, but one was an ad campaign for Gap. Keep an eye out for her!
Caroline Brasch Nielsen at Chanel
After walking the Chanel couture show, model Caroline Brasch Nielsen exited in this cool workwear outfit of blue carpenter-style pants and a matching mesh top.
Magda Laguinge at Viktor & Rolf
Bye bye, Paris! Couture week is officially over, but we have many more photos to come. Model Magda Laguinge waved goodbye til the next fashion week season (a mere 10 weeks away…!) outside the Viktor & Rolf couture show.
Jamie Bochert at Saint Laurent Men’s
Bonjour cheris and welcome to Paris! This week, prepare for lots of photos from Paris couture.
Yesterday we caught the tail end of Paris men’s fashion week. Jamie Bochert, model and muse of Marc Jacobs, attended the Saint Laurent men’s show in a pink cardigan (pretty sure it is Louis Vuitton) over a sheer black lace top.
Model Off Duty, Astor Place
Loved this punk-inspired look on a model off duty in Astor Place: all black, including black creeper shoes, except for the bit of irreverent fun that is the pink fluffy hat.
