Bright Idea: Anne V., West Village, February 2021
It was great to see model Anne V. just strolling through the neighborhood yesterday. Even better, she is wearing one of my favorite trends of this winter: bright puffers! If you’re going to be stuck wearing a puffer coat for this seemingly endless cold weather, you might as well make it something cheerful and colorful. This one is Balenciaga, which arguably spearheaded the trend, but there are plenty of colorful thrifted or vintage puffer coats to be had as well. Thanks for stopping, Anne V.
Signs of Spring: Martha Hunt at Jason Wu FW2021
A great look on Martha Hunt at the Jason Wu show with some trends we expect to continue. Like everything else in the theoretical post-pandemic world, don’t expect clothes to get back to “normal” right away. We may eventually put away our sweatpants and opt for slightly more tailoring, but things will likely stay long and loose, like these pants on model Martha Hunt or the skirts Wu showed on the runway. Freedom of movement is key.
Jason Wu and the Gang, NYFW FW2021
Style Inspo: Anne Vyalitsyna at Ferragamo FW2020
Funny how fashionably prescient model Anne V’s February outfit was: it looks like a few chic pieces thrown on over plaid pajamas. The suede fringe jacket is the key.
Agi Akur at Alberta Ferretti FW2020
Another great denim look at Alberta Ferretti, this time on model Agi Akur after the show.
NYC One Month Ago: People!
These are all photos from NY Fashion Week with too many people in them. People in the background, people in the foreground, people looking in the wrong direction, people moving erratically, people making faces. But this is what we miss so much about city life now that people, those pesky people who wouldn’t behave in a scripted way, have gone indoors. (more…)
Best of NYFW (This Time Last Year)
It’s that time again: New York Fashion Week is upon us. It brings the semiannual dilemma: what are we going to wear?! Here are some of the best looks from New York Fashion Week this time last year – looks that have stood the test of time and would still work well today, no matter what the weather. They represent people in many walks of the fashion world from models, influencers, aspiring influencers, society ladies, editors, and buyers. Whether you’re dressing to look all-business or just to have fun and get from place to place, here are a few ideas.
(more…)Good Morning, Paris: Karlie Kloss at Stella McCartney
Supermodel Karlie Kloss always has some of the best daytime looks. Here she is at Stella McCartney in a red maxi dress, wedge heels and a classic navy coat.
Something Blue: Models on a Casting Call, Paris SS2019
Three great looks on models on their way to a casting call, including Blesnya Minher and Ellen Rosa, left and right.
Mommy and Me: Sara Blomqvist and Beau at Dries Van Noten SS2019
After the Dries Van Noten show, model Sara Blomqvist dashed out while still in runway makeup and picked up a little something: her son Beau. We photographers especially love the Dries show because he brings back his favorite model muses year after year.
Street Scene, Outside Givenchy Couture FW2018
Back to school means back to fashion week for many of us. Next Thursday marks the start of New York fashion week, and the beginning of Fashion Month! Get ready… (and look for more dark wash denim like this if you’re in the doing some back-to-school shopping for yourself).
Paris Traffic Jam: Adesuwa Aighewi at Fendi Couture FW2018
Eyes on You: Roos Abels at Elie Saab Couture FW2018
Summer Stripes: Dina Cassama and Katya Akuma Outside Elie Saab FW2018

Model Georgia Fowler en route to the Elie Saab couture show in Paris, which was held on the very busy Rue de Rivoli.
