Fashion journalist Nausheen Shah has the most amazing accessories. I am particularly obsessed with this gorgeous gilded cage briefcase by Anndra Neen that she toted to the Emporio Armani show yesterday in Milan. Anna Dello Russo at Reed Krakoff SS2014
Of course, one of the most visible presences on the New York fashion week scene was Anna Dello Russo. At the Reed Krakoff show on Wednesday, she wore fabulous Tom Ford gold gladiator boots, Balenciaga dress and portrait necklace by Noor Fares. Miraculously, Anna chose to walk down several flights of stairs in those boots at the preceding Philosophy show rather than take the elevator, thus avoiding the infamous collapsing elevator of NYFW SS2014.

Giovanna Battaglia at Stella McCartney FW2013
Skirts! Watch out for them as we segue into fall 2013, because there were a lot of them on the runways. Giovanna Battaglia gets out ahead of the curve at the Stella McCartney show, pairing a flared tweed skirt with her gold trench coat. The metallic gold pumps are the crowning touch.

Susie Lau wore Yves Klein blue and a metallic skirt to the first day of Fashion Weeks at Lincoln Center yesterday – plus sunglasses that were both blue and metallic. The shoes are Prada and have been a big hit with the fashion crowd for years now because they’re so comfortable for walking miles during fashion week.

Seeing Spots, Outside Moschino
If you haven’t noticed, polka dots have been everywhere this fall/winter 2012, a trend that was spearheaded by Marc Jacobs with his F/W 2011 collection. Loved this metallic polka dot dress outside the Moschino show in Milan. If you do not dare to do all-over polka dots, opt for something more subtle but equally fun, like these sheer polka dot stockings by Falke.

Arizona Muse in Diane von Furstenberg, 2012 CFDA Awards
Model Arizona Muse wore head-to-toe Diane von Furstenberg to the CFDA Awards. The silver puffer paisley dress and knee-high boots were particularly refreshing since this mod look runs completely counter to the rather tired mermaid dress trend. Like Arizona herself, this DVF outfit is a breath of fresh air.

Sequins for Daytime, Outside Jil Sander
This fun, transitional look outside the Jil Sander show could easily go from day to night – especially if you work in fashion. The sequins give it bling; the oversized sweater keeps it all down to earth. The one punch of color? Her blue suede shoes.

Elisa Nalin at Sonia Rykiel
Stylist Elisa Nalin wore so many fantastic outfits during Paris fashion week, but this one was one of my favorites. Love the mix of a leopard lapel with a springy green sweater and gold skirt – a great way to transition between seasons. Try her trick of layering a colorful collared shirt underneath a crew neck sweater for an instant wardrobe update.
