Howdy, Neighbors: Emily Blunt and John Krasinski at Variety’s Power of Women Luncheon
These two actually stay near me when they come upstate. I guess I shouldn’t be alarmed that the couple that directed and starred in the terrifying “A Quiet Place” is nearby… as I’m lying there in the pitch blackness at night… in complete silence… no street lights… nowhere to run….

That Time Again: NYFW Men’s
It’s time to gear up for another round of men’s fashion week starting next Monday in NYC. Somewhat controversially, NYFW: Men’s runs right up into NYFW (women’s) this season, but the timing works with the trend of combining men’s and women’s collections on the runway. We’ll see what happens!
Start Spreading the News: Veronika Heilbrunner and Justin O’Shea
Congrats to Veronika Heilbrunner and Justin O’Shea, who announced that they are expecting their first child. Here they are in October 2014, dancing after the Valentino show in the Tuileries.
Man in Sacai, Outside Dries Van Noten SS2018
Eyes on You: Bryanboy at Diane von Furstenberg SS2018
In the past few years, the fashion industry has evolved from one in which designers and photographers framed their own story around a model – one who remained largely silent and transmutable – to one in which the subject of the photograph has just as much of a voice, if not more so, than the designers and the photographers. So it’s interesting to see, thanks to the internet and social media, who thrived in the previous scenario versus who thrives in the current one. Now more than ever it’s apparent who is beautiful on the inside as well as the outside.
So cheers to the weird, the strange, the eccentric. There would be no “fashion” – design would remain static – if there weren’t people willing to push the envelope and in doing so, create a new normal.
Mix and Match: Luis Borges and Raquel Strada at Lacoste SS2018
Two very sportif looks on Luis Borges and Raquel Strada in the Tuileries. Love this mustard color for spring.
Hats Off: Stephen Jones at Christopher Kane SS2018
Acclaimed milliner Stephen Jones and his hats can be found at a fashion show or two – Marc Jacobs, Thom Browne and Dior to name a few. He gamely posed outside the Christopher Kane show in London this fall.
Beating the Traffic, Art Basel Miami 2017
One guest arrived at the VIP entrance of Art Basel Miami via bicycle, the way to beat the traffic here in South Beach.
Azzedine Alaïa and Carla Sozzani, Paris 2014
R.I.P. Azzedine Alaïa, one of the last true master couturiers. He was a familiar sight during Paris couture week, when he walked into shows without any fanfare, almost always with his dear friend Carla Sozzani. One interesting thing to note about this photo – these were their outfits of choice for July. Mid-summer or not, black was always the order of the day.
Party Ready: Humberto Leon and Carol Lim at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2017
Designer duo Humberto Leon and Carol Lim arrived at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards last night, she in a welcome pop of yellow for the red carpet, and he in some pretty awesome leather pants.
