On the Dot: Simone Marchetti at Stella McCartney SS2015
Polka dots can brighten up even the dreariest day, as seen on La Repubblica‘s Simone Marchetti at the Stella McCartney show in Paris. The jacket is Christian Pellizzari spring/summer 2015.
Five Guys, Outside Gucci SS2015
Good Sport: Kyle Anderson at Peter Som SS2015
Let’s hear it for the boys: WWD announced yesterday that the CFDA is starting up a separate men’s fashion week in New York this July. And why not? American men’s fashion is extremely influential around the globe. At the Peter Som show in NY, one of those influencers, Kyle Anderson of Marie Claire, wore an amazing MBMJ Nascar-inspired jacket, mesh shirt and a flight suit, partly undone and tied around his waist.
Kyle Anderson at Carven SS2015
A great menswear look on Kyle Anderson at the Carven show in Paris: Louis Viutton flight jacket and Saint Laurent leather pants and suede boots.
Cut-Off Khakis, Outside Ralph Lauren
David Thielebeule at Tory Burch SS2015
Yes, already we are back to leather jacket season and this was a particularly cool one on WSJ’s David Thiebeuele yesterday at Lincoln Center. He mixed it with a white tee, windowpane plaid pants and lace-up oxfords. Note that he did not go for sneakers – keeping it sophisticated with just the right ratio of casual to formal. You have to walk the line.
Kyle Anderson at Tommy Hilfiger SS2015
Kyle Anderson of Marie Claire channeled the sporty chic of fall with this Nascar-esque jacket by Marc by Marc Jacobs.
Phillip Bloch at Lacoste SS2015
Phillip Bloch looked particularly dapper at the Lacoste show yesterday in a blue sport coat and tie, blue cap and navy pants. Also note the shoes: this is how men are wearing sneakers now – very convenient for zipping around during fashion week.
Man on a Ducati, Outside Maison Martin Margiela
Of all the menswear looks we saw on the streets at couture, this was one of my favorites. It’s so simple but so good – just a heathered blue and white sweater, jeans, boots and pale gray blue helmet (that somehow goes with the sweater). Also note that this is a rollneck sweater, similar to what we’re seeing by Chloe for fall 2014. Never say never again, kids.
Phil Oh at Chanel Haute Couture FW2014
Loved this palm tree print jacket on Phil Oh at Chanel haute couture. Jackets are the perfect canvas for the intricate prints in fashion now in menswear and womenswear alike – worth noting for fall.
Ralph Lauren, Outside His 2015 Resort Show
Well, this was definitely my favorite shot of the day. Ralph Lauren exited his 2015 resort show impeccably dressed in his own label. It’s hard to deny his star power. Even Condé Nast editors are starstruck by him, especially when his son David charmingly introduces him by saying, “Meet my dad.”
Menswear, Outside Roberto Cavalli
Just a few hours before this year’s Met Ball, our thoughts go out to the men who’ll be attending. Much has been written already about the strict dress code of white tie and tails for the men. Spending thousands of dollars on an outfit you may only wear once – we women wonder what that must be like?!? C’mon guys, you can do it. Let these stylish guys outside the Roberto Cavalli show be an inspiration to us all.
Bryanboy at Altuzarra FW2014
Just as there are no hard and fast rules anymore about white shoes and Memorial Day, animal prints like leopard are not just for fall. Paired with white jeans on Bryanboy at Altuzarra, a leopard print coat looks fresh for spring.
Kyle Anderson at Hermes
Marie Claire accessories editor Kyle Anderson is always dressed (and accessorized) to the nines during fashion week, and even the last show of the last day of the last fashion week was no exception. At the Hermes show in Paris, he wore a Prada print jacket, shredded Saint Laurent jeans, and Pierre Hardy high tops. Detail shot of the sneakers after the jump. (more…)
Layered Vest, Outside Jean-Charles de Castelbajac
This guy, seen at several shows during Paris fashion week, has really cool personal style – menswear deconstructed. The vest is actually layered over a striped jacket and that over a striped painter’s shirt. The jeans cuffed high are also a nice and unusual touch.
Update: He is Damien Foxe of the Financial Times.
