Two Spring Looks at Diesel Black Gold
Two editors at the Diesel Black Gold show put together great outfits for spring, pairing pale cotton pants with bright colors or prints on top. Note the cropped length of the pants: it’s sexy and chic to show a little ankle, especially with heels.
Mademoiselle Yulia at Kenzo
Colorful abstract leopard prints by Kenzo got a lot of play outside the shows in Paris, especially at Kenzo’s own show, where Japanese DJ and designer Mademoiselle Yulia wore a Kenzo dress and coat that complemented her elaborately multicolored hair.
Fei Fei Sun at Chanel
Model Fei Fei Sun has always had a great sense of style and a wardrobe that seems to get more beautiful and sophisticated each season. Exiting the Chanel show, she wore an Andrew Gn white coat and carried a Chanel purse. Details including the elaborate runway glitter eyeshadow, after the jump. (more…)
J.J. Martin at Bottega Veneta
I really liked this transitional look on J.J. Martin at the Bottega Veneta show in Milan. It’s warm but colorful, as if she’s just waiting for spring to be sprung! The leopard coat is Emilio Pucci. Close-up of her shoes, after the jump. (more…)
Anya Ziourova at Bottega Veneta
One of the biggest developments of the FW2013 fashion week season: Anya Ziourova is pregnant! Somehow she really started showing between NY and Milan fashion weeks. At Bottega Veneta, she looked positively glamorous with her baby bump in a khaki jumpsuit, leopard print fur, mirrored sunglasses and yellow and acid green print stilettos.
Zhanna Romashka at Etro
Photo blogger and stylist Zhanna Romashka made a big impact on the fashion show scene when we first saw her and even more so this season. At the Etro show in the snow she wore a very Russian look – camel cape with fur trim and pom pom, matching camel hat and leopard-print shoes. The bag is Hermès.
Joanna Hillman at Rodarte
Loving the leopard prints we’re seeing outside the shows this season. Stella McCartney’s leopard print jacket has been reformatted for spring with a bright, optic white background, as seen on Joanna Hillman outside Rodarte. The sexy black pumps are Alexander Wang.
Julia Sarr-Jamois at Emporio Armani
We photographers have a certain obsession with Wonderland editor Julia Sarr-Jamois’ style, and it’s gotten even keener since the last Fashion Month. She is now a cover girl for J.Crew and in print ads all over the U.S. Obviously we aren’t alone in admiring her cool, individualistic style! At the Emporio Armani show she wore an abstract houndstooth print skirt paired with a gray sweatshirt and purple leopard print clutch. The bright red sunglasses that match the skirt are the crowning touch.
Kate Lanphear in Leopard Print, Outside Alberta Ferretti
We saw a lot of leopard prints this time last year, but like many things fashion, they have not died, they have been transformed into something else, morphing from saturated safari colors to muted shades of gray. Elle’s Kate Lanphear wore leopard print in black, gray and white outside yesterday’s Alberta Ferretti show. Her signature studded bracelets are Eddie Borgo.
Bonnaroo Street Chic: Leopard-Print Shorts and Doc Martens
Since the original huge American music festival was Woodstock, festival fashion often follows the hippie beat of that era. But as a New Yorker, I liked seeing the edgier looks at Bonnaroo. Military boots like Doc Martens are perfect for tackling dust or mud, and not every print has to be paisley. Try leopard!
Leopard Print Jumpsuit, Outside Haider Ackermann
Loved this abstract leopard print jumpsuit outside the Haider Ackermann show in Paris. She’s taking a lot of fashion risks, and it all pays off. The red platforms and oversize sunglasses balance out this big pattern so the focus is still on the girl, not just her clothes.
Emmanuelle Alt at Sonia Rykiel
French Vogue editor Emmanuelle Alt has been wearing white jeans year round for an effortlessly sophisticated look. At the Sonia Rykiel show in Paris, she paired them with a luxe leopard print jacket: high-low fashion at its best.
She has also been a big influence in beauty. Many of the fall shows were styled with models with very little makeup and loose, natural hair, à la Emmanuelle.
Mary Alice Stephenson
Mary Alice Stephenson changed up a basic black coat with a leopard print jacket and geometric disc necklace. Lace up boots are sexy enough for fashion week, but sturdy enough for snow.
