Danielle Bernstein at BCBG SS2015
Blogger Danielle Bernstein of We Wore What mixed a leather fringe skirt with flats and a tee at the BCBG show yesterday. The pretty almond color of her skirt also figures prominently in a lot of the spring collections.
Elina Halimi at Ulyana Sergeenko Couture FW2014
This gorgeous pleated digital print dress from Givenchy is shaping up to be a big editorial favorite for fall 2014. Elina Halimi of Paris’ Kabuki wore it with a Barbara Bui leather vest and Givenchy flat sandals. Front view, after the jump. (more…)
Alissa Wilson at Isabel Toledo for Lane Bryant
Blogger Alissa Wilson of Stylish Curves wore some pretty floral print pants and a hot pink top to the Isabel Toledo for Lane Bryant show last night. Adding florals under a black overcoat is a great way to warm up to spring.
Natalia Osadcha on the Street, Milan
Elle Ukraine editor Natalia Osadcha looked so elegant at all the shows in Milan today. She emerged from a cafe in a black leather coat, black and white heels and clutch draped with netting.
Kate Dimmock at DKNY
In case you are not Karolina Kurkova or Susie Bubble, here’s a lesson on how to wear leather sweatpants, as demonstrated by Kate Dimmock of People Style Watch. It’s all about balance – mixing the sporty pants with a professional camel coat and a nice bit of tweed print on her top. The leopard print sandals add a little more fun.
Susie Bubble at Prabal Gurung
Susie Bubble, who recently penned a piece for Vogue in defense of street style, gamely posed outside the Prabal Gurung show in a bright orange fur and leather trousers. Indeed street style would not be the same without her!
Olivia Palermo at Diane Von Furstenberg
Olivia Palermo wore a great cobalt blue coat with fur collar and brown leather sleeves to the Diane von Furstenberg show in New York. Also note the flash of bare ankles: this is an instant style upgrade anyone can do for spring – as soon as you dare to bare your ankles!
Model Off Duty, After Moschino
In Milan, the fashion set saw inclement weather as an opportunity to break out their best winter duds. This is really a case of “when in Rome” – Italian ladies have been known to don their best fur coats just for a trip to the grocery store. After the Moschino show, a model left in a brilliant red fur coat and leather leggings.
Shiona Turini at Nina Ricci
Cosmopolitan’s fashion market editor and native Bermudian Shiona Turini is perhaps the most fashionable woman to emerge from Bermuda, well, ever. If you have ever whiled away a rainy summer afternoon rummaging through shops on Front Street in search of something that is not pink and green or patterned like your grandma’s tea cozy, you have felt my pain. And yet, like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Shiona turns up at fashion weeks around the world fabulously attired. She was already sporting the trendy Fendi keychain in September, clipped to a fabulous Louis Vuitton clutch.
Chiara Ferragni at Etro
Joan Smalls at Chanel SS2014
As a lifelong cat lover, I couldn’t be happier that cats are totally In! Now that my own cat is so on-trend, I won’t have to trade him in for a teacup chihuahua like Paris Hilton – at least not until next season. Model Joan Smalls threw her hat into the Team Cat ring with a cute studded cat-ears headband after the Chanel show. She also wore an amazing Karl Lagerfeld cartoon tee – detail shot after the jump.

Leather Vest and Military Dress, Outside Rag & Bone
Kate Lanphear at Armani
This has got to be one of my favorite outfits Kate Lanphear of T Magazine has ever worn. Just pure inky black from head to toe, with a thin leather top, mid-calf skirt and the new over-the-ankle boots. She is true to her original style while giving a nod to new trends, and she gets more sophisticated every year.
Black and White, Outside Armani
A really cool outfit outside the Armani show this morning in Milan. I like how she has paired the black skater skirt with a sheer black top under a white leather vest to add some feminine floatiness to the look. And here again we see the new over-the-ankle type boots that will be big for fall, here in snappy black and white.
OK, Glass: Nina Garcia at Alexander Wang
This is happening: Editors are wearing Google Glass to the shows during New York Fashion Week. The glasses were probably gifted from Google, but any concerns the fashion industry has about their actual style quotient have not kept editors like like Nina Garcia and Eva Chen are taking them to the streets. The glasses come in several different colors including yellow, but early adopters in the fashion world are going for the neutral gray shade. Mais bien sûr: it goes with black.
