Susie Lau at Theyskens’ Theory
Surprisingly chic right now: all denim from head to toe. At the Theyskens’ Theory show in New York, Susie Lau of Style Bubble mixed different shades of blue denim, all from ASOS, and finished the look with Prada shoes.
Candice Lake at Donna Karan
Photographer (and ex-model – can you tell?!) Candice Lake sported this great 3.1 Phillip Lim I [Heart] Nueva York tee to the Donna Karan show at NY Fashion Week. It’s especially cute paired with printed jeans and a red hat. The fur coat is Hockley London.
Ruby Aldridge in Vintage, Outside the Mercedes Benz Tents
Some fashion people play fast and loose with the term “vintage.” It doesn’t refer to a bag from two seasons ago, but rather the treasures you can find when hunting through racks and racks of old stuff, as at Antique Boutique on Broadway in the ’80s and ’90s, when vintage had its heyday. Model Ruby Aldridge continues the tradition with the vintage stuff she wears all the time, like these cool jeans and Western boots. The resulting look is truly original. Close-up of those boots, after the jump.
Jenna Lyons After the J. Crew Show
J. Crew’s Jenna Lyons wore a camel coat, tweed jacket, frayed jeans and J.Crew statement necklace to yesterday’s J. Crew show. Love her all-American style. Close-up of the shoes and bag, after the jump.
Anya Ziourova at Derek Lam
One way to ward off the blues on a really cold day: a colorful fur coat, as seen on Anya Ziourova outside the Derek Lam show.
Kate Lanphear, Milan Fashion Week
When Kate Lanphear left Elle this December, it seemed like we’d lose out on a whole season of her great style during fashion week. But no! She has landed at T Magazine as Style Director and will be back on the scene this February. We’re looking forward to seeing more of her super cool looks like this one, a textured black leather jacket and her signature black shades outside the shows at Milan fashion week.
Vintage Sweatshirt, Outside Missoni
Love how this guest at the Missoni show combined a vintage Indianapolis sweatshirt with stilettos and a YSL clutch. Like many people in the fashion industry, she starts out with a comfortable, casual outfit then adds amazing accessories to make it chic.
Ruby Aldridge, Outside Moschino
Model Ruby Aldridge combined retro high-waisted jeans with a vintage Leica camera outside the Moschino show.
Polka Dot Jeans, After Rochas
An abstract polka dot print takes basic jeans up a notch. This look may be casual, but it’s also luxurious thanks to the blue suede and shearling of her motorcycle jacket.
Carlotta Oddi at Cavalli
Another new girl on the scene who’s been attracting a lot of attention because of her good looks and great style is Carlotta Oddi, assistant to Anna Dello Russo. On the last day of Milan Fashion Week, she wore a cool and relaxed jeans outfit to the Cavalli show. The distressed, bleached jeans show how many varieties there are now in denim. Love a hat like this for a rainy day. The studded bag is Valentino.
Leandra Medine Photobombing Taylor Tomasi Hill, Outside Peter Som
This was a funny moment outside the shows. Both street style stars attracted a lot of attention from photographers, and Leandra Medine of the Man Repeller jokingly photo-bombed Taylor Tomasi Hill. Great outfits on both of them!
Zanna Roberts Rassi at the Parsons MFA Exhibit
Marie Claire editor Zanna Roberts Rassi arrived at Monday’s Parsons MFA exhibit looking just as chic as she does during fashion week. We’ve been seeing bright pants on a lot of trendsetters now, but what makes her look particularly cool is how she pairs these Christopher Kane for J Brand neon-bright yellow jeans with a classic military drab jacket. She’s customized the jeans by tucking the flared leg into her lace-up boots. Love it.
Karlie Kloss, After Viktor & Rolf
Perhaps no other model caused as much of a stir this fashion week as recently minted Victoria’s Secret angel Karlie Kloss. Her height, perfect proportions and almost supernaturally good looks made her a real star. Note to “normal” girls though: Don’t even try to look like Karlie Kloss. She was just beamed down from heaven this way.
Karlie exited the Viktor & Rolf show in a denim on denim look that’s been gaining popularity. For the best style, pair two contrasting shades of blue. The motorcycle boots and jacket may be classic Americana, but the bag is Chanel. Super cool super model.
White Jeans and Plaid Coat, Outside BCBG
Garance Doré tweeted yesterday that her surprise winter staple has been white jeans. Indeed, if Michael Kors had anything to do with it, we would all wear white jeans all the time. Here they look great and springy with a colorful plaid coat and red bag, outside the BCBG show at Lincoln Center.
Snakeskin Pants at Costume National
There’s no need to wait until spring to start wearing snakeskin, even though this pattern was all over the runways for the new season. The digitized print is already popping up everywhere on dresses, jeans and pants, as on this well-dressed attendee at the Costume National show in Paris.
