Sasha Luss and Kremi Otashliyska, After Chanel Couture SS2015
Two cute and practical looks on models Sasha Luss and Kremi Otashliyska after the Chanel couture show in Paris. When prepping for Fashion Month, which begins this week and does not end until March 11th, I always look at what the models are wearing. Like us photographers, they are literally running between shows – but looking good doing it.
Anna Dello Russo in Yohji Yamamoto
Perhaps in anticipation of the manga-themed spread she did for Vogue Japan, Anna Dello Russo wore several amazing graphic prints to the couture shows in Paris. At the Dior show, she wore an oversize Yohji Yamamoto coat emblazoned with Japanese cartoon imagery.
Patchwork Fur Coat, Outside Dior Couture SS2015
Black and blue was a popular color combination outside the couture shows and an interesting spin on the usual all black. One guest at the Dior show wore a black and blue fur patchwork coat, pairing it with a wide brimmed hat and over-the-knee boots.
Elina Halimi at Chanel Couture SS2015
Loved the graphic punch of this look on Elina Halimi: red, green and black and white stripes. The accessories are great too, especially the covetable Louis Vuitton bag.
Natalie Joos at Rochas FW2014
A great play on texture and stripes by Natalie Joos at last winter’s Rochas show. Wrapping oneself in oversize knits is a concept that really appeals to me right now.
Caroline Issa at Philosophy FW2014
This outfit, like Caroline Issa herself, manages to be both cute and sophisticated at once. Love the black and white contrast and stylistic contrast between the cuddly hat and sleek black culottes and boots.
Natalya Bogacheva at Rick Owens SS2015
Moi, je ne suis pas Charlie.
I am not nearly as daring or provocative as the cartoonists and editors behind Charlie Hebdo. But like many I am drawn to the provocateurs. Artists and free thinkers are indelibly associated with the city of Paris and should be always. In the world of fashion they would be the punks or those who dare to wear the crazy things no one else would. At the Rick Owens show, Natalya Bogacheva was one of them, donning Thom Browne’s rabbit ears hat and mask to twirl in front of the Eiffel Tower. Vive la Paris.
Gray Coat and Beige Hat, Madison Avenue
A cute look spotted yesterday on Madison Avenue and a great example of how to wear sunglasses with a winter hat. Another thing to note: fashion people are not letting go of cropped pants and bare ankles, no matter how cold it gets!
On the Dot: Simone Marchetti at Stella McCartney SS2015
Polka dots can brighten up even the dreariest day, as seen on La Repubblica‘s Simone Marchetti at the Stella McCartney show in Paris. The jacket is Christian Pellizzari spring/summer 2015.
Kind of Blue: Golestaneh at Elie Saab SS2015
A great hi-lo mix on blogger Golestaneh outside the Elie Saab show in Paris: a Stella McCartney colorblock sweatshirt with a blue miniskirt by Zara.
Colorful in Chanel: Eleonora Carisi at Giorgio Armani SS2015
I love this fun, candy-colored Chanel print on Eleonora Carisi’s floaty silk skirt. The takeout container Chanel bag was another covetable item seen on the streets this past fashion week.
Traveling in Style: Catherine Baba at Haider Ackermann
This was one of those “only at Paris Fashion Week” moments outside the Haider Ackerman show. The ever-chic stylist Catherine Baba made a grand exit by bike. She was one of several to wear all white this week while the weather’s still hot – plus of course a Chinese sun hat that’s become her signature look.
Kristina Bazan at Tod’s SS2015
Swiss blogger Kristina Bazan of Kayture has really exploded on the fashion scene in a short amount of time. This was one of my favorite outfits she wore during Milan fashion week – a blue and black Tod’s cape, which she belted and paired with over-the-knee Jimmy Choo boots and a Rag & Bone hat. (Hey! I have that hat.)
Anna Russka at Fendi SS2015
Sam and Cailli Beckerman at Jeremy Scott SS2015
Meanwhile, on the other side of town, the fashion got wild at the Jeremy Scott show. Sam and Cailli Beckerman of Beckerman Blog mixed Moschino bags and Sponge Bob visor with sequins and painted jeans. Cailli Beckerman actually painted the Beavis and Butthead cartoons on those jeans herself – impressive!
