Ulyana Sergeenko at Dior
Ulyana Sergeenko swept into the Dior show in a dramatic tiered and tasseled wool skirt and an oversized hat. Her personal style strikes me as very 21st-century Anna Karenina – elegant and aristocratic.
Anna Dello Russo at Victoria Beckham

Carlotta Oddi at Cavalli
Another new girl on the scene who’s been attracting a lot of attention because of her good looks and great style is Carlotta Oddi, assistant to Anna Dello Russo. On the last day of Milan Fashion Week, she wore a cool and relaxed jeans outfit to the Cavalli show. The distressed, bleached jeans show how many varieties there are now in denim. Love a hat like this for a rainy day. The studded bag is Valentino.
Susie Lau at DKNY
Style Bubble‘s Susie Lau wore a clever illustrated top and Chanel jean shorts with red stilettos to the DKNY show. Playful and cool.
The shirt and hat are by House of Holland.
Boating Hat and Shorts, Jazz Age Lawn Party
Another great menswear look from the Jazz Age Lawn Party. Shorts and vests were the way to go – and the boating hat is very charming.
Girl in a Peach-Colored Hat, Jazz Age Lawn Party
Family in White, Jazz Age Lawn Party
This Side of Paradise Bag, Jazz Age Lawn Party
Loved this lady with her This Side of Paradise bag. It’s just from Barnes & Noble, but so apropos for the Jazz Age Lawn Party. She also wears a vintage dress, cloche hat and elaborate false beaded eyelashes.
Street Chic: Men in White, Jazz Age Lawn Party
Pale suits were all the rage on men at this weekend’s Jazz Age Lawn Party. Crooner Gregory Moore, who would later perform with a troupe of Dreamland follies, even wore a white cape for the occasion. And of course, there’s one accessory you can’t do without at this garden party: a picnic basket.
Street Chic: Black Vintage Jacket and Sequin Shorts, Jazz Age Lawn Party
At this weekend’s Jazz Age Lawn Party on Governor’s Island, there was a surprising crossover between 1920s looks and goth in several of the guests. Both aesthetics are related to Steampunk and involve a lot of attention to detail, vintage, and a love of costuming. The mashup was pretty brilliant on this young woman, who wore a black vintage jacket with her black sequin shorts and black hat, nicely contrasting with cherry-red lipstick. Very cool personal style.
Street Chic: Blue Shorts and a Straw Hat
Here’s another stylish look from a blazing hot Paris fashion week: brightly-colored, high-waisted shorts and a straw topper. If you’ve got legs, shorts are super flattering. Dress them up with a nice blouse and espadrille wedges.
Polo Street Chic: Ivory Romper and Wedge Sneakers
Love the combination of modern and traditional in this look at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic. The romper and wedge sneakers are very summer 2012, but the mix of ivory cotton and pale brown leather shoes goes back to the 1920s.

Floral Frock, Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic
A floral frock looks so elegant for a daytime summer party. At the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, this guest paired hers with the traditional wide-brimmed hat and nude peep-toe shoes. Why are nude shoes the trend that never ends? Because they make your legs look never-ending.
