Red Belted Coat, Outside Carolina Herrera FW2016
A belted and embroidered red coat seen outside the Carolina Herrera show has a pretty, folklore-y appeal that’s perfect for the holidays.
Deep Freeze, Outside Lacoste FW2016
This was one of the coldest days on record last winter – and of course, a day we photographers were all standing around outside for fashion week in New York. The Lacoste show attendees put a chic spin on cold weather dressing, like this woman in blue with suede over-the-knee boots.
Monochromatic Look, Outside J. Crew FW2016
A dramatic and monochromatic look with an ombre coat, seen outside the J. Crew presentation last winter.
Natasha Zinko at Elie Saab Couture FW2016
Natasha Zinko brought a pop of color to the Elie Saab couture show in Paris – and a ’70s look replete with purple glasses and blouse and yellow velvet pants. Expect more wild colors this fall as traditional autumn colors give way to the whole rainbow.
Star Struck: Sofia Sanchez de Betak at Valentino Haute Couture FW2016
Whimsical, colorful prints are going to be big this fall season, and we got a sneak preview of just how beautiful they can be with Sofia Sanchez de Betak’s star-printed look at the Valentino couture show in Paris.
Gilda Ambrosio at Armani Prive FW2016
Robe dressing is the new pajama dressing? Gilda Ambrosio belted a silk robe with a fanny pack at the Armani Privé show in Paris.
Chriselle Lim at Armani Prive FW2016
Beautiful blue, white and red on Chriselle Lim, who kept it casual but elegant at the Armani Privé show in Paris.
Teddy Quinlivan, After Maison Margiela FW2016
It’s hard to resist model Teddy Quinlivan, who exits every show in a quirky outfit in a style that’s entirely her own and puts on a huge magazine-shoot-esque performance for us photographers. This move was all Teddy. After the Margiela show in Paris, she leapt past in a pale pink bustier, cropped black jeans and a jaunty military hat, still in her runway makeup by Pat McGrath. Wow.
Hannah Bronfman at Giorgio Armani Prive FW2016
Hannah Bronfman entered the Giorgio Armani show in Paris in a plunging white silk dress with a leather jacket thrown over her shoulders – a great transitional look as summer goes into fall. Also love that although she is quickly becoming a beauty icon, she keeps her look very natural.
Clara Racz at Giorgio Armani Prive FW2016
Another great vintage look on Clara Racz, this time with layered men’s ties and a U.S.A. bomber jacket.
Sailor Stripes: Laura Neilson at J. Mendel Couture FW2016
A particularly cute outfit on Laura Neilson at the J. Mendel couture show in Paris. I like the coordinating sailor stripes, and the flats are key for getting around town on a day of multiple shows. Also, she was one of a couple trendsetters spotted during Paris couture week who tucked a sweater into high-waisted trousers.
Shoes! Louboutins Outside Alexis Mabille Couture FW2016
Louboutin the man and the shoe is a frequent sighting at the couture shows. Outside the Alexis Mabille show, we spotted a particularly cool pair with a wavy heel and raffia cuff.
Check, Please: Alexandra Golovanoff in Gingham
How to do gingham now: Alexandra Golovanoff brought this classic check into 2016 with a a voluminous jumpsuit with puffed sleeves. Cute and modern. Also note the new silhouette for heels now: low and blocky.
Vintage Chic: Magda Laguinge at Chanel Couture FW2016
Model Magda Laguinge dressed for a cool summer day in a vintage jacket and jeans after the Chanel show in Paris. The white patent leather loafers add polish to the whole look.
Easy Being Green: Leaf Greener at Dior Couture FW2016
One of my favorite looks on Leaf Greener at couture week FW2016: a gorgeous green ruffled top and big dangly earrings. The ikat-print heels are an unexpected touch that work really well.
