Oksana On at Roberto Cavalli
Russian Glamour‘s Oksana On wore a striking gray dress to the Roberto Cavalli show in Milan. As in many of the fall/winter 2013 shows, the clothes on the street have been getting more muted, save for the occasional fashion week peacock or two, with the focus shifting away from bright colors and returning to sharp tailoring.
Bette Franke at Bottega Veneta
Model Bette Franke probably had a 6:30 call time on the rainy morning of the Bottega Veneta show, and yet she still managed to dress with this certain je ne sais quoi, as you can see when she exited the show. Love how she mixed prints on the scarf and sweater with a colorblocked coat. The beautiful hair and makeup is from the Bottega Veneta runway.
Sarah Rutson in Camouflage at Marni
Lane Crawford’s Sarah Rutson was is of the trendsetters who helped popularize cargo pants after they first appeared on the Balmain runway. Outside the Marni show, she wore a new menswear version with laces up the back and a camouflage parka. Sexy and sporty, all at once. Detail shot of the back of the trousers and boots after the jump. (more…)
J.J. Martin at Bottega Veneta
I really liked this transitional look on J.J. Martin at the Bottega Veneta show in Milan. It’s warm but colorful, as if she’s just waiting for spring to be sprung! The leopard coat is Emilio Pucci. Close-up of her shoes, after the jump. (more…)
Elisa Nalin at Trussardi
Stylist extraodinaire Elisa Nalin looked quite elegant in a Valentino coat, dress and heels at the Trussardi show in Milan. Close-up of her Fendi bag and Valentino shoes after the jump. These were one of several pairs of shoes seen outside the shows with a clear acrylic heel that makes the wearer look as if she’s floating on air. Very Cinderella! (more…)
Anna Dello Russo and Cucciolina at Armani
Every once in a while a very special guest star appears at Milan fashion week: Anna Dello Russo’s little dog Cucciolina. Even the most jaded fashion editors at the Armani show melted at the sight of this piccolina. Here she is with Anna in a Marc Jacobs fur hat. Close up of Cucciolina – and Anna Dello Russo’s bag – after the jump.
Update: Anna Dello Russo’s coat is Dsquared2 prefall 2013 and her bag is Paula Cademartori.
Michelle Elie at Roberto Cavalli
Michelle Elie of Garage Magazine was a bright pop of orange and red color on a gloomy day outside the Roberto Cavalli show. Close-up of her Miu Miu platforms, after the jump.
Anya Ziourova at Bottega Veneta
One of the biggest developments of the FW2013 fashion week season: Anya Ziourova is pregnant! Somehow she really started showing between NY and Milan fashion weeks. At Bottega Veneta, she looked positively glamorous with her baby bump in a khaki jumpsuit, leopard print fur, mirrored sunglasses and yellow and acid green print stilettos.
Zhanna Romashka at Etro
Photo blogger and stylist Zhanna Romashka made a big impact on the fashion show scene when we first saw her and even more so this season. At the Etro show in the snow she wore a very Russian look – camel cape with fur trim and pom pom, matching camel hat and leopard-print shoes. The bag is Hermès.
Luca Finotti at Moschino
Luca Finotti bounded past the backstage entrance of Moschino in the snow in a white suit and colorful Moschino sneakers, which apparently work pretty well, because he was really catching some air.
Giovanna Battaglia at Fendi
Giovanna Battaglia attracted a huge crowd of photographers outside the Fendi show, then she videotaped us with her iPhone. It’s all so meta!! But keep an eye out for this waist-centric, flared 1940s silhouette in outerwear for fall 2013. It was all over the Prada runways hours after Giovanna wore it here. The scarf around her head à la Tippi Hedren was also strangely prescient. Giovanna: a fashion’s bellwether, no matter what the weather.
Joan Smalls at Fendi
Model Joan Smalls has always had super cool, understated personal style. She exited the Fendi show in plum-colored lipstick from the runway (look for more of this come fall 2013), matching fur scarf, knit hat, Givenchy clutch and Margiela blazer. Oh yeah – and there’s a Dracula movie in town whose posters made for a dramatic backdrop!
Linda Wells at Gucci
Allure editor Linda Wells wore a Burberry coat to the Gucci show and carried a Reed Krakoff bag with a contrasting belt tie. These bags have really been taking off this fashion week, especially among American fashion editors. Krakoff won the CFDA Award for accessory design in 2012.
Kate Lanphear at Gucci
Kate Lanphear of T Magazine has always been a wearer of inky black from head to toe. It somehow gets more stylish every year, though – the monochromatic palette brings your focus to the thick, soft leather of her jacket, the beautiful tailoring of the clothes, the silhouette of the feminine heels. That’s fellow street style photog Adam Katz Sinding of Le 21ème in the background – another fashion person who favors all black.
Aline Weber at DKNY
Model Aline Weber wore black and blue on her way out of the DKNY show. Love the mix of textures and the cheetah-spot boots.
