Grace Bol at Fendi
Catherine Baba at Balmain
The mysterious stylist Catherine Baba rode her bike to and from the Balmain fashion show in a hat with veil and a fur coat by Lanvin.
Linda Fargo at Dries Van Noten
Bergdorf Goodman’s Linda Fargo is instantly recognizable on cold days by her big fur hats. Today she wore one with a Burberry trench with fox fur shoulders and Louboutin leopard print boots to the Dries Van Noten show in Paris. Now that’s warmth and style. For her take on the fall/winter 2013 season so far, check out her interview in WWD.
Anya Ziourova at Bottega Veneta
One of the biggest developments of the FW2013 fashion week season: Anya Ziourova is pregnant! Somehow she really started showing between NY and Milan fashion weeks. At Bottega Veneta, she looked positively glamorous with her baby bump in a khaki jumpsuit, leopard print fur, mirrored sunglasses and yellow and acid green print stilettos.
Zhanna Romashka at Etro
Photo blogger and stylist Zhanna Romashka made a big impact on the fashion show scene when we first saw her and even more so this season. At the Etro show in the snow she wore a very Russian look – camel cape with fur trim and pom pom, matching camel hat and leopard-print shoes. The bag is Hermès.
Joan Smalls at Fendi
Model Joan Smalls has always had super cool, understated personal style. She exited the Fendi show in plum-colored lipstick from the runway (look for more of this come fall 2013), matching fur scarf, knit hat, Givenchy clutch and Margiela blazer. Oh yeah – and there’s a Dracula movie in town whose posters made for a dramatic backdrop!
Mary Alice Stephenson at Victoria Beckham
Mary Alice Stephenson, who has a really fun Twitter feed if you want to follow the fashion crowd, walked through the snow in open-toe stilettos, a black and white ombre fur and statement necklace. Close up of her snakeskin clutch and gold ring, after the jump.
Anna Wintour in the Snow, Outside Victoria Beckham
These next few photos are in honor of Bill Cunningham, who loves to photograph fashionably dressed people hopping over puddles.
Anna Wintour may be high fashion, but that hasn’t stopped her from braving the elements like the rest of them. Outside the Victoria Beckham show, she forded a snow bank in flat rain boots worn with a tweed suit, blue and white fur top, and of course her trademark sunglasses.
Designers: here are some suggested trends for next winter’s NY fashion week: salting sidewalks and shoveling a clear path to the street. Don’t make Anna Wintour do this again.
Michelle Harper at Jason Wu
Michelle Harper has the most amazing personal style that always seems to reference vintage, though her clothes are often by up-and-coming American designers. She’s like a 1920s flapper who’s been airlifted to modern times. At the Jason Wu show, she wore a black fur coat and a black turban with red lipstick, perfect for blowing a kiss in the snow.
Kate Lanphear at Ruffian
Kate Lanphear, now the style director of T Magazine, bundled up for the Ruffian show at 9am the day after blizzard Nemo with a long black fur vest layered under a midnight blue coat. Her black beanie hat has a fur/faux fur pom pom, another micro trend that’s hitting now. Her companion is practically dressed for the cold with boots and a down coat. Much better than a few people who showed up at Lincoln Center in things like strapless gowns during a blizzard… yes, that happened!
Anya Ziourova at Jason Wu
Russian Tatler editor Anya Ziourova wore black and white, including an optic white fur jacket and black leather top, to yesterday’s Jason Wu show.
Fur Coat and Black Knit Cap, Fifth Avenue
A cool hi-lo combination. Not sure if the fur is real or faux, but the look is a nice mix of uptown and downtown aesthetics.
Fur Coat and Hermes Bag at Carolina Herrera
Don’t let the winter doldrums get you down: cold weather can also provide an excuse for a major fashion statement, as with this hooded fur jacket with leather sleeves on a guest at Carolina Herrera’s show. The bag is Hermès.
Garance Doré at Derek Lam
When dressing for NY Fashion Week, it’s important for us street style photographers to remember that we must spend a lot of time outside, not just dashing from the warmth of a chauffeured car to a fashion show. Therefore I am much more likely to take cues from stylish photogs like Garance Doré, who always mixes high fashion with a good dose of practicality, as with this fur-lined military parka. The pink lipstick is a nice girly touch.
