Blush Jacket, Outside Louis Vuitton
Loved this gorgeous blush pink jacket outside the Louis Vuitton show. It’s the perfect color for this spring – and the sunglasses are just right.
Zanna Roberts Rassi at Louis Vuitton
I don’t have enough photos of Zanna Roberts Rassi up – and she was beautifully dressed at Paris Fashion Week! Here she is in a particularly striking outfit of gray wool trousers and a camel sweater with fur sleeves.
White Blazer and Teal Blouse, Seventh Avenue
A well-dressed crowd showed up for yesterday’s Oscar de la Renta Spring 2012 bridal show on Seventh Avenue in the Garment District. This outfit of a teal silk button down and white blazer with a structured black bag and wedges is perfect for work – even on a day when the temperature goes from 60 to 77 degrees.
Think Pink, Lincoln Center Plaza
Maybe it’s just because of Reese Witherspoon’s wedding dress, but the color pink seems to be on the brain for a lot of fashionable people these days. If you buy nothing else this season, let it be a brightly colored bag like this one – though the gorgeous ring and bracelet aren’t too shabby either.
Hamish Bowles at Oscar de la Renta
Bright color, one of the major trends for spring 2011, has always been in fashion for Vogue editor Hamish Bowles. Here’s how the look can play out beautifully in menswear.
70s Jeans and Silk Button-Down, Outside Prabal Gurung
Here’s another example of ’70s jeans looking great in real life. Note how she keeps it from getting too hippie-dippy by wearing the jeans with a silk button-down blouse, tailored coat and structured bag. The loose topknot keeps it playful.
Fox-Print Dress and Wide-Brimmed Hat, Outside Prabal Gurung
Another great interpretation of 70s redux. Love the floppy wide-brimmed hat, and the fox print on this dress is like something out of The Ice Storm. But topping the whole look off with fuchsia lipstick puts it firmly in spring 2011.
Addendum: The dress is Opening Ceremony X Deyrolle.
Brad Goreski at DVF
Other news in blues: Some trend forecasters say that cerulean blue will be the color to wear this spring. (The Rag & Bone jeans in cobalt blue are pretty tempting.) Stylist Brad Goreski, who just got his own Bravo show, wore a bright blue Man Men-esque suit and tie at the Diane von Furstenberg show.
Nicole Phelps in 70s Jeans, Outside Chloe
Style.com fashion critic Nicole Phelps was one of the first to start sporting the wide-legged 70s jeans that are hitting stores now. She’s also proof that they look great. Here she mixes them with other themes from the runways, like the 70s redux shearling jacket, sailor stripes and a cool scarf printed with 16th-century tall ships.
Ruby Aldridge in Navy Blue, Outside Chloe
Is navy is the new black? That’s how things are shaping up for fashion muses like model Ruby Aldridge, who made her exit from the Chloe runway in a long-sleeved navy blue lace dress, artfully styled with a belt and sunglasses looped through.
Note that she has mixed navy with a black fringed bag, brown woven belt and white sunglasses, which looks much cooler and more relaxed than a navy blue outfit that’s all matchy-matchy.
Julia Frakes at Oscar de la Renta
Love the real life “Gossip Girl” style of Julia Frakes in a prep school blazer with a white cotton dress and tights at the Oscar de la Renta show. According to her tumblr blog Julia Bunny (formerly Bunny Bisous), the dress, tights, and shoes are Chloë Sevigny for Opening Ceremony, the blazer is Topshop with a vintage pin, the sunglasses are Karen Walker.
Here’s another photo of her in a great outfit at last season’s Oscar show.
Khaki and Orange, Outside Viktor & Rolf
Orange is popping up everywhere in spring fashion. This jolt of color is surprisingly versatile when you pair it with neutrals like khaki.
Prada Monkey Top, Outside Viktor & Rolf
Prada’s spring 2011 collection has been a huge hit with buyers and editors, who wore many of Prada’s colorful stripes, fur scarves and brightly printed tops to the Paris shows. This Prada monkey print top gives new meaning to the term “animal print” and has been just as coveted as the leopard prints of fall.
Caroline Issa at Viktor & Rolf
Speaking of pointy collars, fashion editor Caroline Issa of Tank Magazine also wore a pointy-collared shirt to the Viktor & Rolf show. Even if an exquisitely embroidered blouse like this one is not in the cards for you, a plain white collared shirt will also do the trick. Also, love the mirrored sunglasses and pink lipstick! Full length view including shoes after the jump. (more…)
Spring Color in Cold Weather, Outside Chloe
Yes, it is annoying that the cold continues even when it should be spring. But wearing a black parka in March makes the weather more depressing for us all. Here’s a great example of how to stay warm and look springlike: lighten up the colors and layer them. Outside the Chloe show, this woman expertly mixed texture and pattern in a light palette of blues and beiges. Also, note the pointy collar peeking out over a sweater – a detail being adopted by a few super chic ladies right now.
