Lady in Red: Bee Shaffer at the Met Gala 2018
Bee Shaffer, arguably the next “royal” – at least in fashion circles – to be married, looked gorgeous in bright red at this year’s Met Gala, which her mother Anna Wintour hosted as usual. This saturated red has been one of the biggest fashion takeaways in NYC this spring, a color spotted everywhere from evening gowns at the Met Gala to bright puffer jackets on the L train. (Spring weather took a long time coming.)
Also love how Bee’s fiancé Francesco Carrozzini (son of Vogue Italia’s Franca Sozzani) matched his socks to her dress. The couple that dresses together…

Anna Wintour walked from the Mark Hotel down 77th Street on her way to the Met Gala (while other celebrities waited for door-to-door car service, despite the massive traffic jam). The fact that her driver looks like he stepped out of a Renaissance painting only added to her look for theme of this year’s exhibition: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.

Congrats to Kym Ellery of ELLERY, winner of the Australian Fashion Laureate award for best Australian womenswear. Leigh Lezark in Kenzo
Keep an eye out for the newly-reinvigorated brand Kenzo. Ever since Opening Ceremony’s Humberto Leon and Carol Lim took the helm as creative directors last year, Kenzo has been gaining visibility in editorial and ad pages – and also in real life on fashion industry folk. We saw numerous Kenzo sweatshirts on the editors this past fashion week, and at the Viktor & Rolf show in the Tuileries, Leigh Lezark work an intricately pleated Kenzo dress that looked particularly beautiful in motion.
