Dear Lord – I forgot I took this photo! Taylor Swift arrived at the Rodarte show in an exquisite lace dress by the designers. This kind of beautiful craftsmanship looks even better close up – and very pretty on the country music star, especially with her matte red lipstick.

Black and White Dress, Outside Chloé
I just adored this black and white dress outside the Chloé show. A picture-perfect look on a beautiful day. It also speaks to the pervasive influence of Dior’s New Look in fashion right now – ladylike pumps and dresses with a slight 1950s flare to the skirt.

Girl in a Floral Dress, Outside Chanel
The Chanel show in Paris always attracts all sorts of fashion fans, some there to take photos, some there to just take in the scene. This girl arrived in a vintage-looking floral dress with a belt artfully twisted around. The socks and boots are also great for fall.

Polka Dot Dress at Ann Demeulemeester
Of all the current and runway trends to emerge from fashion week, one thing was clear: the tough biker looks of years past have given way to a new ladylike aesthetic. This black and white polka dot dress with white Prada bag, pearls and Hollywood movie star sunglasses is a great example of the tailored, pretty new look.

Anna Wintour at Carven
Since Guillaume Henry took the reins as head designer at Carven last spring, this storied brand has gone through quite a renaissance. Top fashion editors including Anna Wintour attended the show yesterday in the Tuileries.
Wintour arrived gorgeously attired in a dress that combines modern textiles and technique with a flared ’50s skirt – look out for more of these come spring – and a jeweled choker. But most importantly, Wintour demonstrates how fashion can convey power. Even without the bodyguard at right, it would be easy to tell from the expert cut, luxury and colorful flamboyance of her clothes that she is the queen bee.

Lane Crawford’s Sarah Rutson looked gorgeous at Jason Wu in a strapless pleated black dress. But since she is one of fashion’s bellwethers, it’s important to note what she’s wearing: a dress! Sarah Rutson was one of the first to wear all sorts of skinny pants and jeans with platform stilettos in past seasons. This past NY fashion week, however, she wore dresses and skirts almost every day.

Natalie Massenet, Outside Marc Jacobs
Fashion editor turned entrepreneur Natalie Massenet curates a beautiful collection of clothes for Net-a-Porter, but she also understands what women need out of their wardrobes. Here she’s assembled a great outfit that took her all the way from a 10am fashion show to an 8pm show, and presumably the Marc Jacobs party afterwards. Kim Kardashian arrived at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center in a form-fitting beige dress and aquamarine statement necklace with her hair piled into a bun. She has said she idolized Elizabeth Taylor, and she really does remind me of La Liz in her twenties and thirties – the same sultry glamour and perfectly symmetrical beauty.
