Film Buff: Karlie Kloss at Diane von Furstenberg SS2018
Karlie Kloss is apparently a film buff – who knew? We are always discovering surprising things about fashion people we’ve been shooting for years. The supermodel is hosting “Movie Night With Karlie” on Freeform this winter with guests like Kendall Jenner and Jourdan Dunn. Because if you’re going to curl up for a movie, wouldn’t you rather curl up with Karlie?!
Alex Badia at Diane von Furstenberg SS2016
WWD’s Alex Badia mixed it up with different variations on pinstripes including a pinstriped trench at the Diane von Furstenberg show.
Pretty and Pulled Together: Blair Eadie at DVF FW2014
Fashion blogger Blair Eadie of Atlantic Pacific looked perfectly polished at last winter’s Diane von Furstenberg show in a coat and boots with a cracked leather design and upswept hair.
Paris and Nicky Hilton at Diane Von Furstenberg SS2015
Paris and Nicky Hilton looked pretty and polished in blue Diane von Furstenberg dresses to the show on Sunday.
Olivia Palermo at Diane Von Furstenberg
Olivia Palermo wore a great cobalt blue coat with fur collar and brown leather sleeves to the Diane von Furstenberg show in New York. Also note the flash of bare ankles: this is an instant style upgrade anyone can do for spring – as soon as you dare to bare your ankles!
Lily Kwong at Diane von Furstenberg
Model Lily Kwong looked amazing in a micro polkadot print jumpsuit and camel coat at the Diane von Furstenberg show on Sunday.
Natasha Goldenberg at Diane von Furstenberg
Natasha Goldenberg wore shades of winter white to the Diane von Furstenberg show in New York. Details of her shoes and shearling coat, after the jump. (more…)
David Thielebeule in Dior Homme
Allure Mag’s David Thielebeule is one of the most photogenic people I have ever shot. He always looks amazing! On Sunday, he wore Dior Homme the Diane von Furstenberg show. The leather shirt is a great example of how much more versatile leather has become now. Leather tops and pants have been a big trend outside the tents for men and women.
Brad Goreski at DVF
Other news in blues: Some trend forecasters say that cerulean blue will be the color to wear this spring. (The Rag & Bone jeans in cobalt blue are pretty tempting.) Stylist Brad Goreski, who just got his own Bravo show, wore a bright blue Man Men-esque suit and tie at the Diane von Furstenberg show.
Multicolored Dress, Outside DVF
Love the mash-up of color and texture, also the juxtaposition of very modern-looking dress with a vintage handbag.
Trend Report: Seeing Red
Red is a given around Valentine’s Day, but this year at NY Fashion Week the trend has been more pronounced. Vibrant, saturated cherry red is showing up everywhere, particularly in accessories. The color was also a major part of yesterday’s Diane von Furstenberg fall 2011 show, so don’t expect it to disappear come February 15th. (more…)
Diane von Furstenberg SS 2011
The weather turned distinctly autumnal on the Sunday of New York Fashion Week, as rain came down on Lincoln Center Plaza before the Diane von Furstenberg show. Umbrellas and trench coats were put to good use.
Kate Lanphear. I know you’ve seen this outfit in the previous post, but I liked this portrait of her. While most of us just “dare to be different” some of the time, she has a distinct sense of style rooted in Goth otherness – this one combines a vintage rocker tee with a sleeveless trench. It reaffirms the importance of experimentation in fashion, instead of just following what everyone else is doing. (more…)
CFDA Awards Red Carpet and Full Fashion Analysis!
One great thing about a black tie event for the fashion industry? You’ll never be bored. Guests at the Swarovski-sponsored CFDA Awards last night wore daring, dazzling looks with no worries of playing it safe for the mass media, since this 7th Avenue version of the Oscars is a little more sheltered than the Hollywood event. That’s not to say the women and men here weren’t elegantly dressed: fabulous gowns and tuxes abounded, but look closely and you’ll see towering shoes, short hemlines and plunging necklines that really pushed the envelope in terms of what works for the red carpet.
Sarah Jessica Parker created the biggest stir of the night in a gorgeous, art nouveau-style Alexander McQueen gown. She presented a Board of Directors Special Tribute Award to the late designer at the ceremony.
The best red carpet looks: Alexa Chung, Emile de Ravin, Jessica Biel, Dree Hemingway, Irina Lazareanu, Sasha Pivovarova and many more – all photos by Gastro Chic! (more…)
Diane von Furstenberg
An American fashion maven and one of the originators of New York Fashion Week in Bryant Park, Diane von Furstenberg always draws a celebrity-laden and appreciative crowd to her shows. Guests arrived suitably glammed up for the occasion.
A white lace dress brings in the spring, but the black biker jacket and tights make this a great transitional look for the end (thank God) of winter. (more…)
