Red and Black Coats, Soho
I love it when people coordinate with their dogs – if only they could all dress this stylishly! Both owner and dog wore red and black for a walk in Soho recently.
Candice Lake at Chanel
I loved the combination of colors and textures on Aussie photographer and blogger Candice Lake at Chanel. The Hockley London fur is a nice flash of cheerful yellow on an overcast day, and the black velvet skirt is the perfect counterpart. Plus: red lipstick is the way to go with a bright coat.
Linda Wells at Balenciaga
Allure editor in chief Linda Wells brings professional polish to every outfit she wears during fashion week, but I especially loved the mix she wore to the Balenciaga show: Coat with contrasting lapel, mixed prints and a great leather pencil skirt. It looks both pulled-together and très chic.
Black and White Coat, Outside Louis Vuitton
As painful as it may be to wrench yourself away from pretty fall weather, it’s time to start thinking about coats. Though most people seem to go for the most basic, utilitarian coats around, there really *will* be enough cold days in a New York City winter to wear an interesting patterned coat fairly often. This guest at Paris fashion week paired her black and white coat with an aubergine clutch by Louis Vuitton.
Giovanna Battaglia at Stella McCartney
Giovanna Battaglia literally stopped traffic in a graphic black and white coat outside the Stella McCartney show. Bellissima!
Brocade Coat, Outside Marni
Loved this beautiful purple brocade coat on a guest at the Marni show and how she paired it with lace leggings and a feathered scarf. Exquisite, luxurious detail.
Ada Kokosar at Marni
Stylist Ada Kokosar has a super cool aesthetic: she always looks pulled together yet slightly bohemian. Here she is outside the Marni show in black and white. Note the double breasted coat – a tailoring style that has been showing up on a lot of men at Milan Fashion Week as well.
Leather Sleeve Coat, Outside Timo Weiland
Sunday’s Timo Weiland show drew a lot of snappy creative dressers like this man in a blue coat with leather sleeves carrying a wooden Chanel bag. Scarf print pants like these have been a big trend outside the tents. You don’t have to spend a fortune to get them either, since similar styles are available at J. Crew.
Jacquelyn Jablonski at Sonia Rykiel
It was so terrible to learn yesterday that iconic designer Sonia Rykiel has been suffering from Parkinson’s disease for the past 15 years (story in WWD). She has continued on very bravely with her work, drawing quite a stylish crowd to her most recent show in the Tuileries. Here, model Jacquelyn Jablonski exits the show at dusk in a camel coat, white blouse, scarf draped just so, and leather leggings. The acid-green bag with her initials on the tag is the crowning touch.
Kate King at Alberta Ferretti
Model Kate King wore a sheer pale pink skirt exiting the Alberta Ferretti show. Love the color and the vintage-y style.

Ursina Gysi at Alexander Wang
Pet peeve: I hate black puffer jackets, even though I own one. This winter in New York it was black puffer jacket after black puffer jacket on the streets, with very little color in between. I stood out in the cold shivering for hours (admittedly, sometimes in my black puffer jacket), praying to photograph something, anything other than a black puffer jacket! But stylist Ursina Gysi shows how to take an ever-present trend and make it your own. The beautiful silver tone and athletic jacket collar make this puffer stand out from the crowd. With a white lace dress, saturated blue bag and graphic black and white booties, the whole look is refreshingly cool and unexpected.
Michelle Harper in Ivory Brocade
Michelle Harper wore a beautiful ivory brocade dress and coat to yesterday’s Viktor & Rolf show in the Tuileries. So timeless and elegant, perfect for Paris. And the gloves! Very Grace Kelly.
Outside the Café de la Musée, After Dior
Twice a year after the Dior fashion show at the Musée Rodin, this unassuming little café around the corner becomes a hotbed of fashion. A woman in an exquisite green brocade pantsuit stood under the awning with several other guests from the show.
