Parisian Chic: Lou Doillon After Chloe SS2019
So exciting to see singer-songwriter Lou Doillon outside a couple of the Paris shows since I am such a fan. (Definitely catch her in concert if you ever have the chance.) The ultimate Parisian girl, always so effortlessly chic.
TBT: Anna Wintour at Chloe, 2010
It’s hard to know if the rumors that Anna Wintour may be leaving Condé Nast are true, but the NY Post certainly seems to have doubled down on the story. (Another rumor is that the New York Times will publish her “exit interview” à la Cindi Lieve’s “How to Quit a Magazine.”) It seems a bit cherchez la femme to blame Wintour for massive shifts in the print industry, which are not limited to Condé Nast.
This is the only photo of her I have where she is truly unguarded, because she didn’t know she was being photographed. A beauty and a legendary force in the industry.
Oh OK :( Sarah Lerfel at Chloe SS2018
Oh OK 🙁 Today marks the end of an era in Paris fashion as Sarah Lerfel’s acclaimed boutique Colette closes. Here she leaves the Chloe show this fall in a jacket with the tongue-in-cheek humor she popularized at Colette. It was a welcome antidote to the sometimes too-serious fashion world.
Throwback Thursday: Caroline Seiber at Chloe FW2012
A good indicator of great style: An outfit from five years ago still looks au courant today, as with Caroline Seiber at the Chloe show in the Tuileries in March 2012.
Rainbow Pants and Shoes, Outside Chloe FW2016
Rainbows have been a recurring motif in fashion for the past few seasons. If you have anything rainbow, now is the time to bust it out.
Margaret Zhang at Chloe FW2016
Denim with lots of volume is a welcome change after years of skinny jeans and shrunken jackets. Margaret Zhang wore an oversize denim trench coat and wide-legged jeans to the Chloe show in Paris.
Dare to Go Bare: Irene Kim at Chloe FW2016
It’s that time of year again: time to bare your legs after a winter spent in hiding. Make the transition easier with mid-calf boots and a great jacket, as Irene Kim did at the Chloe show. We are seeing a lot of varsity and bomber jackets for spring, especially in this military green color. Kim was also ahead of the curve with her ombre hair.
Jada Pinkett Smith at Chloe SS2016
Jada Pinkett Smith wore a colorful yellow trench to the Chloe show, draping it over a white blouse with a long silk tie and slouchy black trousers that are all the rage now in Paris. My one critique of this outfit: too many accessories – the multiple bodyguards! Even Karlie Kloss evades her stalkers with just one, and there is a particular Chinese billionaire who often attends the shows with no security in sight. They are surely there somewhere, but much more subtle.
Samantha Angelo at Chloe SS2016
New blogger Samantha Angelo of The Eye Travels turned heads this fashion week season with her statuesque beauty and flair for mixing different pieces. Outside the Chloe show in Paris, she belted a long Dries Van Noten coat, part trench and part duster, over an Acne dress with a pointed collar and Mary Jane-style Charlotte Olympia shoes. The military subtext to the outfit may especially work for another reason: she actually served in the Marines as a clarinetist in the United States Marine Band! Certainly a multi-talented player on the fashion scene.
Jenny Bernheim at Coachella 2015
I chanced upon blogger Jenny Bernheim of Margo & Me in this cool setting at a private party at Coachella. Gladiator sandals and a Chloe bag are a great way to accessorize a simple belted dress.
Christina Pitanguy at Chloe SS2015
This sophisticated but relaxed look is the way to dress right now. At the Chloe show in Paris, Christina Pitanguy mixed and oversized cream colored top with a clingy luxex pleated skirt and platform heels. It’s all about volume, kept in check with flattering proportions.
Skirt and Sneakers, Outside Chloe SS2015
The skirt or dress and sneakers trend is one of the better ones in the past few years. A guest at the Chloe show in Paris mixed a nautically inspired striped skirt with white sneakers and a print top for an easy and chic way to get around the city.
Prairie Rose: Anya Ziourova at Chloe FW2015
Looking at photos of festival fashion, I keep coming back to the spring Chloe collection and its pretty prairie chic, which is spot-on for spring 2015. Anya Ziourova wore a ruffled, floral and polka dot print Chloe maxi dress to the show in Paris.
