Charlotte Free at Chanel FW2014
Model Charlotte Free bundled up in green – including a moss green Chanel bag – after walking the Chanel show in Paris. She has really cool, individualistic personal style that reminds me of the grunge days in the ’90s, when we’d do a lot of our clothes shopping at Army Navy stores.

Elina Halimi at Chanel FW2014
Elina Halimi of Paris’ Kabuki boutique wore a snakeskin print jacket and wide-legged ivory trousers to the Chanel show. This is the new shape of pants for 2014 – wide-legged and cropped to reveal the ankle – and yes, you can wear white boots before Memorial Day. They’re actually great for spring.

A fun moment outside the Valentino show. We all tend to get little bit punchy by the end of fashion month, and Lucky‘s Eva Chen must be the EIC with the best sense of humor. Elisa Nalin at Chanel FW2014
This cute outfit on Elisa Nalin is one of my favorite things she’s ever worn. The knit top is by Michaela Buerger, the skirt Sonia Rykiel and the clutch by Sara Battaglia. Also we have seen a lot of flats on women outside the shows. Most are not as extreme as sneakers with evening wear à la Chanel couture, but many women have been pairing skirts and cropped trousers with pretty oxfords and brogues. (more…)

Anya Ziourova at Chanel FW2014
Another shot of Anya Ziourova, who is really killing it this season. At the Chanel show in Paris, she wore a camel coat, gray felt hat and a colorful woven scarf. The show itself had a supermarket theme, and afterwards guests could pick out whatever they liked from the aisles. Most emerged from the show with just a pastry or a few bananas. More love for Valentine’s Day: At the Hugo Boss show, Bryanboy carried an amazing “love” Lego clutch from Les Petits Jouers. The cobalt blue suede jacket is Calvin Klein, the suit Valentino and the additional bag – because you can never have just one – Chanel.

Zlata Mangafic, After Chanel
New model Zlata Mangafic was one of the most widely booked models during the past fashion week season and always a pleasure to encounter outside the shows. Her look reminds me of Chanel muse and model Stella Tennant, and like Ms. Tennant, she has laid-back but elegant personal style. After walking the Chanel show, Zlata left the Grand Palais in a green Edun leather jacket, Derek Lam tweed sequin skirt and Celine bag.

White Lace Dress and Plaid Jacket, Outside Chanel
I love this combination of a formal gown made of exquisite white lace with a casual beret and plaid jacket. The jewelry and Chanel bag take it up a notch further, styling-wise. Very French, very Chanel.

Joan Smalls at Chanel SS2014
As a lifelong cat lover, I couldn’t be happier that cats are totally In! Now that my own cat is so on-trend, I won’t have to trade him in for a teacup chihuahua like Paris Hilton – at least not until next season. Model Joan Smalls threw her hat into the Team Cat ring with a cute studded cat-ears headband after the Chanel show. She also wore an amazing Karl Lagerfeld cartoon tee – detail shot after the jump.

This is the kind of high-low mix that stylists and editors love: a très chic (and expensive) Valentino coat and Chanel matriochka bag worn with a down-to-earth pair of ripped boyfriend jeans. Even if you can’t throw on your best Valentino and Chanel, you can take a cue from this girl: this fall’s shredded boyfriend jeans are best worn cuffed with heels, especially if you’re petite.
