Gotta Prada: Susie Bubble and Bryanboy at Prada Resort 2019
Prada held its 2019 resort show in NYC on Friday. Thank you, Miuccia, for coming to New York when even some American designers have gone the opposite way across the pond! The show attracted an international crowd of celebs and fashion insiders, including Susie Bubble and Bryanboy, looking super cute together in matching Prada. A close up after the jump. (more…)
Eyes on You: Bryanboy at Diane von Furstenberg SS2018
In the past few years, the fashion industry has evolved from one in which designers and photographers framed their own story around a model – one who remained largely silent and transmutable – to one in which the subject of the photograph has just as much of a voice, if not more so, than the designers and the photographers. So it’s interesting to see, thanks to the internet and social media, who thrived in the previous scenario versus who thrives in the current one. Now more than ever it’s apparent who is beautiful on the inside as well as the outside.
So cheers to the weird, the strange, the eccentric. There would be no “fashion” – design would remain static – if there weren’t people willing to push the envelope and in doing so, create a new normal.
Say Cheese: Bryanboy at Valentino SS2108
Say cheese: Bryanboy laughed with us photographers outside the Valentino show in Paris. Love this jacket, which would be great for beating the wind on a blustery day like today.
Bryanboy and Tina Leung at Gucci SS2018
Two of my absolute faves in Gucci at Gucci: Bryanboy and Tina Leung.
Bryanboy and Tina Craig, After Valentino SS2017
A burst of yellow – and a spring fashion preview in florals and camo – on Bryanboy and Tina Craig aka Bagsnob in Valentino outside the show.
Pajama Dressing: Bryanboy at Gucci FW2016
Gucci again made waves in the fashion industry by announcing they would show both menswear and womenswear with one show starting in 2017. (Let’s hope it falls during women’s fashion week.) Outside the fall 2016 show, Bryanboy sported Alessandro Michele’s boundary-pushing designs for the label. It may be pajama dressing, but it sure looks luxe.
Bryanboy at DKNY SS2015
There are certain people we photographers count on to bust out the wildest looks from the runway during fashion week, and Bryanboy is one of them. Though intricate and costly masks have appeared on runways at Maison Martin Margiela, Givenchy and Alexander McQueen, this one goes back to the club kid roots of this trend (and Lady Gaga). It’s an inexpensive piece by Kandigear that you can find on Amazon. The sneakers are Dior.
Bryanboy at Altuzarra FW2014
Just as there are no hard and fast rules anymore about white shoes and Memorial Day, animal prints like leopard are not just for fall. Paired with white jeans on Bryanboy at Altuzarra, a leopard print coat looks fresh for spring.
Bryanboy at Hugo Boss
More love for Valentine’s Day: At the Hugo Boss show, Bryanboy carried an amazing “love” Lego clutch from Les Petits Jouers. The cobalt blue suede jacket is Calvin Klein, the suit Valentino and the additional bag – because you can never have just one – Chanel.
Bryanboy at Marni
Fashion blogger Bryanboy arrived at Milan’s Marni show in style. Love how the Roberto Cavalli fur plays off the pattern of the Suno pants. The sweater is Comme des Garcons, the yellow bag Dolce & Gabbana, the studded shoes Prada.
Stephanie LaCava and Bryanboy
Here’s another stylish duo for you: Stephanie LaCava and Bryanboy at Jason Wu. Though fashion week can be grueling, there are many happy reunions going on at the shows. These two friends and street style stars are particularly adept at wearing color and prints.
Bryanboy at Chanel
Wouldn’t it be great if you could just design your own clothes when you can’t find exactly the right item in stores? That’s what fashion blogger Bryanboy has been doing, picking out fabric and patterns and having his clothes tailor made. The jacket and pants are his own design, the sweater is Sonia Rykiel.
Bryanboy at Preen
The color of his pants (Jil Sander, I think?) isn’t exactly red – more of an ’80s neon, like something out of a Michael Mann set. Brilliantly over the top with a white fur vest.
Elise Overland SS 2011
Norwegian-born designer Elise Øverland is known for body-con leather designs that look great on the models that attended her show this Sunday. But some of the best new designs on the runway were tiered silk dresses and blouses and long, flowy pants – a great new silhouette for spring that would look good even on non-models.
Violinist Hanh Bin, who performed on the runway, warmed up before the show in PVC leggings and platform heels. (more…)
Alexander Wang SS2011
It’s always an interesting crowd outside the Alexander Wang show. Like Marc Jacobs especially in the early years, this designer attracts some die-hard fashion groupies as well as the usual roster of fashion show attendees. Some guests took a n0-holds-barred approach and dressed in absolutely outlandish outfits. If there was anywhere to do it, it would be for the fashion person’s fashion person, Alexander Wang.
This choice of clothes proved prescient – Wang showed many all-white looks for spring and no black at all. (more…)
