Winter Layers: Anmari Botha at Jason Wu FW2014
As New York winter kicks into high gear, it’s time to review how to conquer the weather with style. Model Anmari Botha layered a black leather jacket under a 3/4 sleeve coat and over a black turtleneck and necklace last year at the Jason Wu show. This is a particularly good idea when it’s cold enough to wear your leather jacket even indoors.

I still love the classic combination of black and blue, especially in winter when all black gets so boring. Top model and actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wore a black and blue tuxedo jacket, black leather mini and black ankle boots and monogrammed navy blue bag to the Balmain show in Paris. It’s also amazing how she color-coordinated with her bodyguard – on purpose? Welcome to Paris Fashion Week! The weather has cooled off a little here, which means the fashion flock is breaking out jackets, boots and pants. Brazil’s Christina Pitanguy wore black layers to yesterday’s Cedric Charlier show, mixing a black Prada jacket with Stella McCartney pants, shoes and bag by Saint Laurent and a crystal shark tooth necklace by a Brazilian designer.

Swiss blogger Kristina Bazan of Kayture has really exploded on the fashion scene in a short amount of time. This was one of my favorite outfits she wore during Milan fashion week – a blue and black Tod’s cape, which she belted and paired with over-the-knee Jimmy Choo boots and a Rag & Bone hat. (Hey! These boots were made for walkin’! Stylist Shea Marie of Peace Love Shea has just launched a line of shoes and boots with Steve Madden, including this sexy suede over-the-knee pair. She wore them with a leopard-print Equipment dress and white jacket with fringe sleeves to the Michael Kors show yesterday.

Man on a Ducati, Outside Maison Martin Margiela
Of all the menswear looks we saw on the streets at couture, this was one of my favorites. It’s so simple but so good – just a heathered blue and white sweater, jeans, boots and pale gray blue helmet (that somehow goes with the sweater). Also note that this is a rollneck sweater, similar to what we’re seeing by Chloe for fall 2014. Never say never again, kids.
