Monochromatic Look, Outside J. Crew FW2016
A dramatic and monochromatic look with an ombre coat, seen outside the J. Crew presentation last winter.
Into Combat: Sara Sampaio at Alberta Ferretti SS2017
Combat boots have been a major trend for fall 2016, as seen on Victoria’s Secret model Sara Sampaio after walking the Alberta Ferretti show.
I Zig, You Zag: Charlotte Groeneveld at Carven SS2017
The zig zag knit, popularized by Missoni, is a classic that never goes out of style. It’s also a cozy way to sweater-dress. Charlotte Groeneveld wore a zig zag knit sweater and dress by Chloe to the shows in Paris.
Irene Kim at Sacai SS2017
Loved the details in this look on Irene Kim at Sacai: the strappy black leather overalls, the cutouts in the sweater, and the crushed velvet boots. Even better: her outfit matches her hair!
Knitted Out: Veronika Heilbrunner at Loewe SS2017
Knitwear is taking on more and more interesting forms, as seen on Veronika Heilbrunner, who wore a knit skirt with keyhole openings at the sides and a sleeveless sweater with yarn fringe, both by Loewe, at the show in Paris.
Reporting for Duty: Yoyo Cao at Loewe SS2017
Yoyo Cao arrived at the Loewe show in a cadet cap and Prince of Wales plaid pants suit. Surprisingly popular among fashion week guests, pant suits have shed their dowdy image and now feature updated, flattering cuts and colors that would work both in and out of the office.
Star Struck: Sofia Sanchez de Betak at Valentino Haute Couture FW2016
Whimsical, colorful prints are going to be big this fall season, and we got a sneak preview of just how beautiful they can be with Sofia Sanchez de Betak’s star-printed look at the Valentino couture show in Paris.
Teddy Quinlivan, After Maison Margiela FW2016
It’s hard to resist model Teddy Quinlivan, who exits every show in a quirky outfit in a style that’s entirely her own and puts on a huge magazine-shoot-esque performance for us photographers. This move was all Teddy. After the Margiela show in Paris, she leapt past in a pale pink bustier, cropped black jeans and a jaunty military hat, still in her runway makeup by Pat McGrath. Wow.
Shoes! Louboutins Outside Alexis Mabille Couture FW2016
Louboutin the man and the shoe is a frequent sighting at the couture shows. Outside the Alexis Mabille show, we spotted a particularly cool pair with a wavy heel and raffia cuff.
Erica Pelosini at Giamba FW2016
Maybe you had a Cinco de Mayo outfit ready to go for tonight, but it did not include a wool coat. Because although it is freezing, it is May. At the Milan fashion shows, Erica Pelosini effortlessly turned a warm weather outfit into a cool weather one by adding suede boots and a light colored coat – one that even goes with a sheer spring dress.
Sofie Valkiers at Coachella 2016
It was good to see some familiar faces at Coachella looking just as good as they do in a land far, far away called Paris fashion week. Blogger Sofie Valkiers mixed some covetable Jimmy Choo over-the-knee suede boots with a Dodo Baror jumpsuit, YSL bag and embroidered denim jacket by Levis. Also digging the layered necklaces – yes, this trend is back again.
This was the last photo I snapped before I was detained by the Coachella authorities for taking fashion photos with a 35mm camera. Pretty ridiculous. But whatever, Sofie, it was worth it!
Oh My Stars, Coachella 2016 Day 1
A cool dress in a sequin star print was just a little bit trippy and a whole lot chic at Coachella 2016 day one. Leather boots are the way to go for tromping across the dusty festival grounds. Also love the daring hair extensions.
Dare to Go Bare: Irene Kim at Chloe FW2016
It’s that time of year again: time to bare your legs after a winter spent in hiding. Make the transition easier with mid-calf boots and a great jacket, as Irene Kim did at the Chloe show. We are seeing a lot of varsity and bomber jackets for spring, especially in this military green color. Kim was also ahead of the curve with her ombre hair.
Spring Chic: Irina Liss After Margiela FW2016
Spring is the time to experiment with different textures and colors now that we can finally shed some layers. Model Irina Liss exited the Margiela show in a black and white leather jacket with sheen. A long skinny silk scarf is the perfect spring accessory.
