The always-chic Sarah Rutson wore a colorful short sleeved Givenchy “American Dream” sweatshirt to the DKNY show yesterday. Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci has reinvented the lowly sweatshirt as high fashion, starting with his much-copied Rottweiler designs several years back. Look out for more luxe sweatshirts on the fashion crowd this fall. The boots are Balmain.

Ruby Aldridge in Vintage, Outside the Mercedes Benz Tents
Some fashion people play fast and loose with the term “vintage.” It doesn’t refer to a bag from two seasons ago, but rather the treasures you can find when hunting through racks and racks of old stuff, as at Antique Boutique on Broadway in the ’80s and ’90s, when vintage had its heyday. Model Ruby Aldridge continues the tradition with the vintage stuff she wears all the time, like these cool jeans and Western boots. The resulting look is truly original. Anna Wintour in the Snow, Outside Victoria Beckham
These next few photos are in honor of Bill Cunningham, who loves to photograph fashionably dressed people hopping over puddles.
Anna Wintour may be high fashion, but that hasn’t stopped her from braving the elements like the rest of them. Outside the Victoria Beckham show, she forded a snow bank in flat rain boots worn with a tweed suit, blue and white fur top, and of course her trademark sunglasses.
Designers: here are some suggested trends for next winter’s NY fashion week: salting sidewalks and shoveling a clear path to the street. Don’t make Anna Wintour do this again.
