Pretty in Pink, Outside Hermes
Like a certain other street style photographer at the New York Times, I am loving the pretty pastel pinks that are appearing like early signs of spring. Outside the Hermès show in Paris, a guest wore a pink cotton shirtdress wrapped with a pink wrap belt and accessorized with a matching pale pink bag and shoes. Emmanuelle Alt at Giambattista Valli
I love Emmanuelle Alt’s style because it’s simple, elegant and timeless. She doesn’t really go in for trends, relying instead on a daily uniform of chic basics. Just an all black outfit with a belt tied just so: this is something we can all attempt. Also note from a beauty standpoint that French women keep it real, eschewing blowouts, Botox and lots of makeup for a natural look that’s undeniably sexy.

Such a cute black and white rooster print coat on Miroslava Duma at Hermès. It’s by A.W.A.K.E., a new London-based label that was spotted on several tastemakers this past Paris fashion week. The bag is Hermès, the matching black and white spats Valentino.
Another styling note: how to wear fall’s voluminous coats if you’re petite like Miroslava? Cinch them with a belt.

Sarah Rutson at Dries van Noten
After fashion week, there are certain outfits I keep coming back to in my mind when I am trying to get dressed myself. This is one of them, on Sarah Rutson outside the Dries van Noten show in Paris. She has styled it so expertly with the layered jackets (a great idea for this still-chilly time of year), navy polka dot blouse, pinstripe trousers, electric blue suede pumps and most importantly, that unexpected pop that comes from the bright Southwestern pattern on her belt. Perfection.
